Since we are at the halfway point of the B1G Conference season, rank your teams overall from 1-14. Also, where do you think the B1G ranks overall as a conference? I have no reservations in saying that the B1G is top 2 this season. 3 teams in the top 10 and 5 teams ranked in the Top 25 (could honestly have 7). Solid year for the B1G!

1. Ohio State (8-0)
2. Michigan State (8-0)
3. Iowa (8-0)
4. Michigan (6-2)
5. Northwestern (6-2)
6. Wisconsin (7-2)
7. Penn State (7-2)
8. Indiana (4-4)
9. Minnesota (4-4)
10. Illinois (4-4)
11. Nebraska (3-6)....Yikes!
12. Rutgers (3-5)
13. Maryland (2-6)
14. Purdue (2-6)

Reading the thread title, I thought you were going to rank the quality of each team's fanbase.

Yeah, I think his conference rankings are right, but the conference is not that good. I know people are ripping the P12 because no one is rising to the top, but I think they are just a lot of good teams cannibalizing.

Iowa is probably fraudulent. It took a lot of Wisconsin derping for Iowa to win that game and they aren't playing the good east teams. Michigan is probably not as good as thought. They are getting by with great D and ton of creativity just to get some points on the board on offense. MSU is hard to evaluate. They have been scratching out wins, but are decimated by injuries and have an outstanding QB/receivers. Nebraska blows, Northwestern isn't what we thought. Or, as you said, who cares about 2-14.

Penn state should be ahead of Wisconsin.

The playoff committee disagrees and has Northwestern ranked at #21. Northwestern beat mighty Stanford...oh and Iowa absolutely killed Northwestern. If anything, I think the B1G is underrated!

Badgers are starting to get a little bit more healthy with Clement returning (no longer on our 3rd string RB, yay!)...but then again, there weren't that many guys left to get injured.

1. Ohio State (8-0)
2. Michigan State (8-0)

The rest: Michigan is getting better faster than anticipated, I put them 3.

Iowa is undefeated but plays none of the better teams and will lose in Lincoln....bold prediction but my gut says Riley pulls this one out.

The rest are just so-so, Northwestern had a big win over Stanford but seems to be regressing.

NW is turning into what they are every season under Fitzgerald: an average B1G program that will finish 5-3 or 3-5 in B1G play.

I think Iowa is better than Michigan St. They are just very sound and boring to watch, because other than Bethard they can plug anyone in, but effective.

Iowa over Michigan State. Sparty has had some close games with bad teams. 3 point wins over Purdue and Oregon. 7 point win over Rutgers. And it took a miracle to beat Michigan.

There is no way with a gun to my head I would ever pick Iowa to beat MSU on a neutral field. I know it's cute to be super reactionary in the rankings on a weekly basis but Iowa can prove they are one of the Big Ten's top programs on December 5th in Indy. Until then I think it's much more likely that State plays up or down to opponents and can't blow anyone out this year, but would beat Iowa more times than not due to having a better QB, offensive line (finally healthy this week), defensive line, receivers, L.J. Scott, etc.

Maybe Iowa could pull a Harbaugh and even the playing field with Sparty due to special teams play but I'll take State in that match up for sure.

Yes, I've watched MSU go undefeated this year while beating Michigan and Oregon, and Iowa not win a marquee game in the past 5 years.

Well this isn't he last 5 years, is it?

3 loss Oregon that lost to Washington State, and another game by 42? Real marquee win

Michigan who also hasn't had a marquee win in the last 5 years, unless you count Utah, since that seems to be criteria you rank this year on.

I guess the real question is have you watched Iowa play this year?
