He is absolutely terrible. I’ve never liked him at all. Fake emotion and his voice irritates me.

Maybe I'm old and don't give two shits what any commentator says, I have the volume so low I can't hear them anyway.

I've commented before, commentators are the biggest waste of money in the industry. Do you knuckleheads really need someone to tell you what you just saw?

Romo sounds drunk and angry on tv.

Go find a job.

Romo’s thoughtful analysis has been replaced by a lot of platitudes and very obvious statements that don’t add much to what we’re all watching

The dude who started the thread during the game, "is Romo just a Cheerleader now?" called it. Just turned into Pom-pom SEC waiving Gary Danielson. But Romo just thinks every play is great or call or offense or defense, nothing bad happens on a play.

Or maybe that OP wrote this article too?

And Romo's voice has been weird all year like he's constantly hungover or just swallowed a frog.

I'm not going through all 63 responses, I'll just give my opinion and get blasted away. He was fun at first because he went to practice, memorized the play sheet, and predicted the plays. He also had a clean voice and knew his place with Nantz. Now he's being paid a zillion billion, Nantz can frick right off for Romo, his voice sounds like Tom Waits, and he constantly talks over Nantz, whose voice I'm not the biggest fan of but he has perfect timing and Romo color needs to shut the frick up. Romo sound like a 12 pack random fan. He sucks

John Madden would visit with teams for days before the games.

.

Novelty that the Networks found out fans don't like. Bill Walsh did it in the booth in the 90s and pissed fans off and he was fired.

Fans don't wanna be told the outcome, they wanna watch the game live and THEN get a Madden type analysis AFTER the play with a telestrator, a marker and inside knowledge.

No one wants to listen to someone spoil the plot for you in a movie theater because they've seen the movie 100 times.

Exactly. The "oh shite" is what makes the offense fun. Not Romo calling a 22 formation and y'all it's play action roll out to the TE on a delay across the middle. I hate it. I'd much rather have somebody else, which sucks to say bc the NFL announcers sound like a 3 foot putt at The Masters

Exactly. We don't need an Offensive Coordinator with a voice like Danny Glover

Perfectly said.

The only reason people praised Romo in the first place was because he had a knack for predicting plays right before they happened

And someone mentioned when he first started in the booth, it is easier to do that when you are just out of the league. He has been reading defenses and reacting for years.

The further away he gets from the game and the play calling evolves, the harder it will be for Romo to call the plays.

Looks like that person who predicted that may be on to something.

Agreed Melvin. I love the dumbfricks that rush to this board to post about how much they don’t pay attention to the NFL in an NFL thread. Also the counts that can’t understand the concept of the poli board
