Has there been any talks about innings limits for Strider?

He on threw 94 innings in his 1 and only minors season. He’s at 59 innings now.

I haven't heard a specific number, but I'm certain there is a limit. Which stinks, because I'd hate to see him come out of the rotation. I'd be surprised if they allow much more than 130 innings, regular and postseason combined.

I can't for the life of me find any update on Soroka's progress down in Florida.

You would think, he would be beginning his rehab assignments soon.

Are you guys seeing that Buster Olney is reporting that the Braves are considered the favorites to sign deGrom if he opts out at the end of the season?

I think he'd have to really want to play for the Braves, because I don't know how we outbid them with Cohen throwing money around like it's toilet paper.

He is from Deland, FL, also the hometown of Chipper and grew up a big Braves fan.

This has been scuttlebutt since ST that he is seriously considering opting out at the end of the season. So that isn't new, what's new is the Braves are the supposed front-runner. And Buster just doesn't throw shite out there for clicks. When he posts/says something, there are legs to it. He's the best insider in the game.

I'd be ok w/a 2 or 3 year deal w/an option. He's 34, he's made his money, maybe he wants to come play for his favorite childhood team and a team w/a legit chance to win it all every year and get a ring instead of playing for a clown organization like the Muts. And come back home to the South.

Also, he wouldn't have to be the man here and shoulder the brunt of the rotation. This is Max's rotation. He's the ace. DeGrom could be the 2 and relax. A rotation of Max, DeGrom, Wright, Soroka, and Strider is just pure filth and the rest of the NL would be FUBAR.

And I just wanna see it happen for the epic melt that Mets fans will have. It would be glorious!

I said before the year that the Mets will Met and I got shouted down "tHiS iS tHe yEaR, bRaVeS wOnT eVeN mAkE tHe pLaYoFfS!" or sumshit like that.

It's gonna be a good race down the stretch but ultimately IMO the Braves take the East and the Mets grab a WC spot.

He's throwing off a mound now last time I heard just earlier this week so I'm sure the reahb assignment isn't far off.

Yeah we’ve only played em what? 3 or 4 times? Leaving 15 games or so to play. It’s obviously gonna come down to how either plays against each other in those games unless we split. Braves or Mets win 10 of 15 and they win the division.

It's gonna be fun.

Don't care what anyone says, the Mets are the Braves biggest rival.

If there is an innings limit, then the Braves need to get creative with him and maybe piggyback Soroka or Anderson with him. He would be a good complement to either of them because of how differently his style is from either of theirs.

Couple of things:

1) deGrom will get more than a 2 or 3 year deal, this is his last deal.

2) You're giving up on Ian after yelling at everyone that you're not giving up on Ian?

Disagree. He's gonna be 35 next season. No team worth their salt should give him anymore than 3 w/an option for a 4th. That would put him at 39. Especially considering his injury history. Like I said yesterday, he's made his money. He probably wants a ring and the Braves would be arguably his best avenue to get it, and he could be the 2 behind Max and not have the pressure of anchoring a rotation.

TBH, I completely forgot about Ian since Strider was fresh on everyone's brain. I know that the Braves want him in the rotation, but his stuff is electric and would work as a closer IMO. Put him there and have Ian in the rotation w/Max, DeGrom, Wright, and Big Mike. That is still a really sick rotation and couple that w/a Matzek-Minter-Strider back end of the bullpen and the Braves have the best staff/team in the NL and arguably baseball

I'm well aware of the scuttlebutt about him opting out. I was bringing the news about the Braves supposedly being the favorites to sign him, and wondering if anyone else had heard. The only way I see it happening is IF he just wants to be here. It certainly won't be because we can pay more, even though our payroll is finally seeming to increase.

I know Buster is a pretty reliable source, but he gets duped sometimes, too. You never know when stuff like this is just agents paying people to spread rumors to give their clients more bargaining power. And what greater motivation for the Mets to pony up the dollars, than the threat of the Braves taking their ace.

So I'm not sure what to believe of all of that.

I can see it. He'd be back home(The South) and have a great chance to win a ring or two before he retires. The Braves were the team of his youth. And the Mets are a clown organization and he might just be fed up w/it all.

That sounds like collusion to me. You're not wrong on your bigger point, but that is collusion.

damn. that is 5 solid pitchers.

fried
anderson
soroka- IF he can come back to what he was
wright
degrom or strider

what a surprise wright has been after what we had seen early on a couple years back. Guess we knew he had potential.

then this strider kid. wow. came out of nowhere. already have tyler nutsack and minter and now jansen. is there room for harris after this year?

degrom was the best rated pitcher in the NL a few years back per the sagarin ratings.

braves have fried and wright in top 10 in 78 innings pitched or more

and minter and strider are top 10 in 26 to 77 innings pitched.jansen is #11

Chuck and Chernoff had Licota on a few days after he made that bold declaration. They spent the entire segment making fun of him and he was too stupid to realize it, and then he went on his overnight show and declared victory. Licota is a buffoon.
