That was that bald Pussy Bill Plaschke. The same guy who called the Battery a "sterile shopping mall" and got promptly and rightly eviscerated for it. And we chopped all to his woke arse discontent. He's a douche.
In fairness, Licata doesn't come off as a douche, just an overzealous Mets fan w/the New York personality. He actually seems like a decent guy, just misguided.

He's a stereotypical blowhard, loud mouthed New Yorker who thinks he is above other people solely because he is in NYC.

Of course it is. And collusion happens at all levels of professional sports. If you ask me, I think the players union (like all such unions) is sanctioned collusion. But that's a different discussion for another day, I suppose.
The trouble is proving said collusion. If someone says that team X is favored to sign player Y, if that person is later approached, he can just say it was his opinion, and no one can prove that he was "hired" to spread a rumor, without a money trail. It's the just the type of stuff that I don't put past anyone in professional sports, including the agents.
