Yeah it sucks. I’m not some roster expert, but I wish they wouldn’t have put him on the DL to take him out of the series.

Gotta imagine if they put him on the DL, that meant they knew he wouldn’t be available for the NLDS because of the injury. It would be amazingly stupid if they moved him to the DL just so Winans could make a start in a doubleheader.

Morton can be added to the series mid-series (after game 1 which is when he’s eligible) if he replaces another player who gets “injured”

I must’ve missed that. Elder should not be an option in the playoffs outside of a bulk guy in a punt game though.
Winans and Wright are both better options to give you 9 hitters in a BP game than Elder.

Agreed, but Winans in his first ever playoff game (which will be on the road) or Wright in his current state aren’t really much better.

This team will lose in 4 in the NLDS. They're playing like they achieved their ultimate goal two weeks ago.

I’d like to see Wright make another start but I thought I saw where they wanted him to come out of the bullpen this week.

He came out the pen in Washington, but that was before they knew Morton wouldn’t be available for the NLDS and obviously before another shitbag outing from Elder.
Gotta imagine their plans for Wright may change. Even so, not ideal.

Can’t think of a better ending for the best offensive team in franchise history than to get swept in the NLDS because of shite pitching.
