Lol bro what were expecting them to do? Get Soto? They are already a good team, what 20 games above .500? They made moved that improved an already good team and roster.

Obviously this isn't a great start, but it's fricking one game. Out of 5. Grow tf up.

You’ve talked me away from the ledge. I am now completely satisfied with how things are going. Thank you.

We picked up Robbie Grossman, who hopefully is better than Mike Ford. Beyond that how did they address any of the offensive issues at the trade deadline? They didn’t. With all of the moves made around the deadline by multiple clubs, AA didn’t do shite to improve the offense. It is what it is. Brandon Drury, who cranked out a grand slam in his 1st at bat in San Diego, would have been an easy pickup for the Braves. Vogelbach was a trade pickup for the Mets, albeit we don’t need another left handed bat, but we do need some offense. Personally I think AA does a helluva job of working contracts for homegrown talent. I also think he got lucky last year with Rosario, Soler, and Pederson and caught lightning in a bottle. I understand not wanting to further deplete the farm system, but he could have done something more to improve the offense than pick up one guy.

I didn't say we're the best team. Just no reason to start whining immediately in game one of a five game series.

The frick kind of strawman is this? No one ever said Soto

We could’ve very easily gotten Brandon Drury.

I decided we were losing the division to the Mets awhile ago. I just want to hold on to the #4 seed.

Exactly, you're just whining to whine.

Obviously not, but they lost Duvall's power bat and didn't replace it, and it also seems like they have no concerns about Acuna's bat. They badly, badly needed a corner outfield power bat and didn't get one.

Good small ball will always beat the Braves. It won't be good enough to beat the Dodgers or Padres because they don't strikeout 14 times a game, though.

The Iglesias trade showed the money was there. I think the lack of upper level prospect capital was the bigger issue.

What are they supposed to do about Acuna? Grossman is a decent comp to Duvall.

Also, the offense hasn't been an issue. We are in the top quarter of most production stats correct? Obviously we're gonna swing and miss a lot, but that was last year too. I think that's just our style of play

Which is maddening about the Padres getting Drury for nothing, we could’ve easily sent Shewmake and a pitcher not named Muller and would’ve had a starter at 2B until Ozzie came back plus corner OF depth.

I mean they moved will smith and replaced his money with Odorizzi and Iglesias. Iglesias’ salary goes up next year by a bit IIRC

Could have taken on bad contracts to get other upgrades if money wasn’t the problem. But maybe no team was willing to go that route.

That might be what other teams are now figuring out about the Braves.
