What are they supposed to do about Acuna?

Move him down in the lineup and assume he is going to be this hitter for the rest of the season. This has gone on for way too long for this to be just a slump.

Grossman is a decent comp to Duvall

Grossman is nowhere near the power threat Duvall is.

Every offense has down moments. The Mets have a great rotation and do something a lot of teams don’t: make our starters work. We just haven’t played a very tough schedule, so we just look bad comparatively when we see good pitching. We had the 5th or so easiest schedule in baseball.

I know he doesn't hot as many homers but isn't his OPS vs lefties pretty high this year?

The frick kind of strawman is this? No one ever said Soto

We could’ve very easily gotten Brandon Drury.

Trading within NL east team isn't what Washington wanted to do. That might be biggest reason for not trading against a rival.

He is hitting significantly better against lefties. He's here to platoon with Rosario, I think.

I also think AA is going to attach a prospect to Ozuna and move his contract in the offseason.

I'm still in awe of how relatively little the Padres had to give up for Soto and Bell compared to the packages we were thinking the Braves would have to offer.

Meh, they still gave up a lot, essentially everyone worth a shite on their farm.

No matter what the Soto deal was going to be, it was never going to seem like it was enough, just because you don’t often see a 23 year old historically great player get traded.
