Do we have any games left with the White Sox?
God, I hope not. They already took 2/3 from us

Snit needs to go get ejected at some point. It seems like Ozuna gets a worse strike zone than any hitter in the sport.

He definitely gets more outside strikes called than anyone else.

Fastballs down the middle is this team’s kryptonite.

It seems like it’s been a month since I’ve seen Duval get a hit. May have been.

Getting Harris back will be big

Umpires who get fooled by framing should be punished heavily for it, as should catchers who do it. Deceiving umpires/referees in any sport is not a skill. It's cheating. Framing is baseball's version of flopping.

Going to have the division down to 5

Schwellenbach has a K/BB ratio of 38/1 in his last 5 starts. That is incredible.

This is why I hate trading a bunch of prospects for starting pitching. If you can get a 1 for 1 swap for a Chris Sale, you do it every time. That made sense even if Sale had just been ok, but obviously it's been one of the biggest steals ever pulled off in a trade.
But there were a lot of people, particularly in the Braves' media, who wanted to trade all of our best pitching prospects to go out and get Dylan Cease or Corbin Burnes. Those guys can be really good, but they are also, like any pitcher, always one pitch away from potentially turning into a black hole in your roster, costing you tons of money and prospects, and sitting on the bench for a year and a half.
Meanwhile, the Braves didn't trade any of their best pitching prospects this year, and look what we're getting out of Schwellenbach. And it cost us nothing. I was grinding my teeth all offseason, listening to people say "yeah, these are nice prospects, but they're just prospects. Go get a proven starter". EVERYONE is a prospect before they are anything else.
Of all of the guys we had, Schwelly was the one I least wanted to trade. The way he pitched in his first year in professional ball last year, with as little experience as he had, told me everything I needed to know about his ceiling. I am so glad they held onto him. He has a Fried-like repertoire, with a fraction of the experience. The slider needs to be a little more consistent (it sort of floats in the middle a little more often than you'd like, but flashes as a plus pitch), and he could use just a little better overall command as, despite throwing a ton of strikes, sometimes he throws too many. Those things are very fixable. He can be an absolute star when he's fully polished. I don't think he even had that splitter before this year. and it's already a devastating weapon.
