Hopefully Touki shows up better than Allard did.

Allard was pretty good in his debut. Good command overall, and if I remember correctly, the weather wasn't exactly ideal. His second outing is one to forget, though.

He was pretty bad in both outings. First outing he benefitted from an offensive explosion and the weather excuse but it wasn’t a good outing.

I know you typically only list the hitters in the lineup and go 1-8 but with Touki on the bump they have 9 hitters.

Touki’s hitting .310/.333/.414 across two levels this year as a hitter with 3 extra base hits and 6 RBIs and registered 2nd highest exit velo of the season in Mississippi.

Expectations are much higher for Touki than Allard.

Agree to disagree on the good outing. Yes, he obviously benefited from the offense, but he threw strikes all game and only had a couple bad pitches. Realmuto took advantage and smoked one out, then he hit another batter. Other than that, I feel he was solid.
I think the problem he'll have is that he's not Maddux, so throwing around 90 MPH probably won't cut it and he'll get blasted a bunch. We already know he'll give up 5+ hits each outing. He needs more movement (though most of his pitches moved quite a bit) and supreme location at that velocity.

Even his outs were hit hard. He only had 3 swinging strikes to non-pitchers.

He was bad. He was lucky he was pitching against one of the worst teams in baseball.

Ian Anderson's Mississippi debut was rained out Sunday. Will start Tuesday at home. Might drive up for that one.

Touki looks very good. Very excited about him. As far as Allard goes, it hard to be successful if you only throw 88-90 and don’t miss bats. You have to have pinpoint control. Allard didn’t demonstrate that in either of his two starts
