We scored 59% of our runs in the postseason last year via the home run and struck out at a higher rate than any team in the playoffs.
That formula isn't going to lend itself toward a team being very predictable.

What can we realistically go after?
Maybe replace Duvall or Rosario. Kind of easy to find this lineup’s lack of production. Also wouldn’t mind a starting pitcher. I’m not so confident in a Soroka return to normalcy.

The formula is hit the ball harder than just about anybody else, don’t hit into double plays (very high fly ball% and high K%) and don’t sacrifice quality of contact for higher contact%. They have more barrels and and a higher hard hit% than anyone else.
On the mound it is don’t give up home runs and strike a frick ton of people out. They lead baseball in both of those categories as well.
The one area that concerns me is that they do not take enough walks offensively and walk too many people as a staff.
The strikeouts/home runs have worked just fine for them over the past 4.5 years in both the regular season and postseason.

This mets lineup isnt even that amazing. Coming into this series they had one hitter at .800 ops on the season. Two double digit hr guys. We have 7 or 8 now

They do have 3 regulars out to be fair. It is a horrible lineup that we’re facing today.

Do they have the money? I was under the impression that they were pushing the limits of where Liberty wanted to go with the payroll. But I suppose it just depends on who they would get and what their salary looks like.

Even with everyone healthy it’s not a dominant lineup. Their path to success seems to be dominant pitching, To be said with all their pitcher health they could very dominant on that side.

Mets with three home runs today

According to whom?

103 pitches in 92° weather that feels like 103°. Genius

It actually sucks, which is what makes this even more embarrassing.
Morton looks washed up again. Fantastic.

If Liberty wants to win they’ll find the money

Morton is cooked.

These two paragraphs are concerning and it tells me the Mets might be a bad matchup for us. Striking out a ton of guys sounds good, but when you're playing against a lineup that focuses on quantity of contact instead of quality, maybe pitching to that weak contact is a good idea.
They want to put the ball in play. Let them make weak contact and trust the defense.

With everyone healthy this mets line up still isnt even top 15 or even 20 almost. It’s just not even remotely good by any measure or statistic. Braves starting pitching has just sucked more.

Feel like I heard a writer or someone say before the season that they didn't have much more wiggle room, but I can't remember.

Well at least we didn't get swept. The Mets are a good team. Their starting pitching is better than ours and when DeGrom gets back they will be hard to overtake

The general offensive success that the Mets have had this year is due to the fact that there aren't really any weak links when it's at full strength
Worst positions are 3B, DH, and obviously C
