Last year they had Ruiz (traded to Nats in Scherzer deal), Rios (hurt early this year), Kike and Joc on the bench. Pretty unreal.
I think they were really stretched thin with the tax due to Bauer so it seems the one area they didn’t really address was the bench at the deadline and the injuries have made it thinner.
