Spencer Strider said he felt fine physically. He expected to go out and pitch until Brian Snitker took the ball away from him. He said he didn’t execute well enough.
I'll give credit to Spencer being uber-competitive, but even if he won't relent publicly, I hope behind close doors he knows that the fastball going from 99-100 to 93-95 from the first to third inning isn't an execution problem.

I assume he will just be an opener since he pitched the other night. Need to get to him early.
The padre crowd is disappointing. No juice.

We burned up Strider in the regular season. Chasing down the Mets took its toll on the pitching staff.
Strider showed no signs of being burned up at any point in the regular season. He had an oblique injury and missed a month. Today we saw a guy show the effects of that layoff. He has to build back up. It's just unfortunate for us that we have nowhere for him to go and do that, and we need him too much to just say "screw it" and not let him pitch at all.
The rest of the staff has had plenty of rest throughout the year. It's what's going to happen to our staff in these playoffs if Strider can't get back to form fast enough, and if Charlie doesn't turn things around. And Fried, as I said the other day, needs to find consistency in the postseason. He's a regular season ace, but a postseason Jekyll and Hyde.

Like I said yesterday. If that’s how they are gonna handle Strider then they should’ve put him in the bullpen

78% called strike accuracy. Terrible. Luckily it didn't really matter but unexcusable to be that bad in a playoff game.
MLB average is 88% btw

No we didn't.

Fried is not an ace.
This is just incorrect on every level. You do know that he was probably still feeling the effects of having the stomach flu, right?

No one has stepped up to the stopper role.
Again, Fried. And have you not watched Kyle Wright?

You sure do bud. Pay not attention to the East having two 100 won teams and the third place team pushing your shite in.
You guys are more fun to watch lose than the Longhorns.
