I don't understand ranking VY ahead of Tebow. Tebow led his team to two NCs in the toughest conference in the country. VY was unbelievable but simply has a shorter resume.
And if it is just a list ranking who was the best for a single year (which is the only way I can see ranking VY ahead of Tebow) then Cam Newton should unequivocally be ranked in the top 3 IMO

The list has almost no consistent rating rubric.

The fact that Jamarcus Russell isnt on that list is almost as big a joke that Vince Young is number 1. I mean come on, Russell wasn't as good/better than Chad Pennington? Tyrod Taylor? Todd Reesing? Jason fricking White? I know the guy was an awful Pro, but that shouldn't affect his legitimacy as a college QB. Im not saying he was top 10, but not even top 50? Completely invalidates this list.

Tebow was a part of 2 NC teams, but he only "led" the gators to 1 IMO.
VY has an undefeated season on his resume, and Tebow doesn't. I think it's close, but I don't think the first NC should be given very much weight. He was a fullback that season. Ryan Perilloux was more important to the LSU NC the next season, but nobody will ever say RP "led" LSU to the 2007 NC.

The top two quarterbacks are a cut above the rest as Tebow is the only player who can challenge Young for top honors.
ummm, Leinart?

He's not even on their "next 25" list.

Rex Grossman is way too low @ 56.

Braxton Miller is on their top 50?!!?!@#?!@#?@!#?!@#@!!!!!!!!
Posted on 3/25/13 at 4:29 pm to CrippleCreek
Russell career @ LSU - 493 attempts 797 Completions 61.9 pct 6625 yard 57 tds 21 ints
That doesnt even garner a "next 25"? Sorry, shitty list.

This would be a good point if it were true.

Even if it's not true, which it is, 2 NCs >>>> 1 NC.

He was the backup QB and used only in situational short yardage plays when the Gators won their first NC. Saying Tebow led the Gators to two NCs is like saying Steve Young led the 49ers to three Super Bowls or Ryan Perrilloux led LSU to the 2007 NC. Tebow did play an important role on the 2006 Gators but that was Chris Leak's team all the way.

so you think Tebow "led" the gators to 2 titles? I could have sworn the first team was led by chris leak but maybe I'm wrong.

45. Tyrod Taylor, Virginia Tech Stats: 7,017 yds, 44 TD, 20 INT, 2,196 yds, 23 TD
even worse he is only 4 spots behind Geno Smith

16???????????????/ WOW.............
He did as much for AU in one year than VY did for Texas............

Jamarcus could've been way up there in an aggressive offense.

I would equate to Cam Newton to Barry Sanders in college football. Both players were essentially one season wonders but they produced more in that one season than most players do in three or four. It also makes them really hard to rank in lists like these.

Ok but how many chances do you get to have a season like CAM did.... What he did was almost unreal........ Like VY he CARRIED his team to a national title. Without him THAT Year AU wins like 7-8 games............ Matt Lienart being that high is a joke... He was the benefit of having AMAZING talent around him.......
