And didn't JFF break some of Cam's records in one season? As a freshman?

I said most guys.

Anyhow, Manziel will likely be above Cam at the end of it all, but I was more responding to the people saying Cam wasn't deserving because of "one season."

Tim Tebow wasn't even the most important freshman on the Florida offense that year. To say he was the team MVP is a huge stretch.

Texas was fine after VY.
We won a title with Chris Leak before Tebow and seem to be on the right track again.
USC kept rolling after Leinart.

Now, look at Auburn since Cam. Easy #1.

FWIW I do get annoyed with people who pretend he did nothing in 2006

I don't think anyone says he did "nothing" but don't let your annoyance drive you to ridiculous statements like trying to claim he was the most valuable player on the team. Fact is he was a bit part player and I would wager that if you take out games against Western Carolina and like 80% of his touchdowns were from inside two yards. The only game he may have actually made a real difference in is the LSU game.

The list is a joke, would love for the guy to explain his criteria.

so you think Tebow "led" the gators to 2 titles?

No, Tebow was a crucial part of that team, but he was far from the reason they won that first Natty. All I am arguing is that TT had a much more productive career. He won 2 NCs and a Heisman. He played for 4 years with his teams winning 2 NCs, A Sugar Bowl and Cap One Bowl. VY played for 3 years. Won a single NC, a Rose Bowl and a Holliday Bowl. With no Heisman.

All I am arguing is that VY is not a slam dunk and TT is probably the only other candidate that should/could beat him out.

Agree with your list for the most part but I would replace Brennan with Leinart. Brennan put up great numbers against garbage competition. Say what you want about Leinart but he was the starting QB for one of the greatest offensive units in the history of college football (2003-2005 USC). He has to be in the top 12. I would also put Pat White or Eli Manning on the list ahead of Kellen Moore. Moore was a good QB but I believe the Chris Petersen system made him look better than he really was. He also played against really putrid competition except for one or two times every year.

lol is the list about QBs with the toughest schedules? Any top 10 without Brennan and Moore is invalid.

Yeah, or Leinart.

VY did it for two years but had ONE amazing year.

Cam Newton did it for one year. Anyone can have one great breakout year where you're new. Sustaining that when everyone starts focusing on you is different.

Oregon got a little handle on him in the champ game...might have been things to come next year in the SEC. Second looks always and so-called sophmore slumps and whatnot. Sustaining excellence is the hardest thing to do when EVERYONE is gunning for you and every game you play is everyone else's Super Bowl.

I guess TT had no talent and his one title is more than TWO?

Leinart did it for 34 straight games. He carried that load and won every time he stepped on the field for almost THREE years.

16. Cam Newton,

Most retarded thing about this list.

Cam Newton is the most dominant player I've seen at the QB position ever in my lifetime (I'm 25). Against Ole Miss he ran, threw, and caught a TD. He single handily beat a VERY good LSU team. He came back in the second half down 21 points AT BAMA to beat a VERY good Bama team. Without Cam, they lose 3 or 4 games. With him they were undefeated National Champions.

Vince Young might get #1 because of the NC game. Tebow I'm fine with at #2 because his career was longer, but I think Cam is #3.

JFF is out because he didn't reach a BCS game and his team got 3rd in division. Obviously this could change.

The guy who made the list is biased against QBs that only played one season (see JFF, Cam).

Cam was the most dominant player ever, there's no question about it.
