08-09 at the absolute latest, although I think it was a season or two prior to that. 08-09 isn't even debatable IMO, Lebron was like a video game hack in the playoffs that season

The way I looked at it is this: If I had to pick one of the two players to be on my team to help me win one game, who am I taking?

I'm taking Kobe through 2010. Coin Toss in 2011. And LeBron since then..

I would take LeBron in every season of his career except his rookie season.

Agreed. I think Kobe was definitely better in 2006-2007. For whatever reason, Lebron was "off" that year and Kobe had a very strong season.

Yeah, after looking at more stats I'm going with 08-09 as the year of Lebron's ascension. It was the first season he led the NBA in both win shares and PER (still the highest PER of his career), and he went crazy in the playoffs with 35/9/7 on 51% shooting. It's debatable prior to that

I can post gifs too

What is Kobe's record when he goes head to head against a Lebron team?

I'll wait

Yeah, that was his second to last year in Cleveland and he was unreal. He has now been the best player in the league for five years. His only inconsistent year was that first season with the Heat. It is still amazing how underwhelming he was in those Finals. It was not even the same player.

He actually led the league in PER the previous season, but honestly, Paul was better.

I have a theory on that.

1. LeBron is naturally a passive player. Just look at today's game. No reason he shouldnt have put up more than 17 shots.

2. DWade was so awesome (for most of the series) ....that I think LeBron just figured Wade would carry them home. People remember LeBron being underwhelming. HOwever they forget how bad Wade was in the last minute of those games.

3. Spo coached that series terrible. He made LeBron a stand in the corner 3 point shooter. It was ISO Wade, Iso Wade. No ball movement whatsoever.

No excuse whatsover. LeBron blew it. But damn that was some bad coaching.

Also....I've been disappointed with LeBron these playoffs. If you noticed last year...he was getting 30 a game. Now he's at about 24. Screw all the efficiency shite and shoot the ball! LeBron needs to shoot it a minimum of 22 times a game.

As long as they win, it does not matter. Of course, this was their first real test. The Bucks were like a 38 win team in the East. I am sure they will be fine. I would go with Heat in 6.

I love watching aggressive players. Even though they could be more inconsistent and even less inefficient, guys like Westbrook and Kobe are fun as shite to watch IMO.

Very fun, but they could never be my number 1 guy to watch. I get so mad when people make the wrong play or don't pass to force a shot

I think the real question is when was Kobe ever the best player in the NBA? Guys like Duncan, Shaq, Garnett, Dirk, and Lebron have always made it where he wasn't the best at that particular moment.

He never was.

Lebron has been the best basketball player on the planet back to and including the 2006-7 season.

In the 2004-05 and 05-06 seasons, Cavs had a better record than the Lakers and I think the cast around LBJ wasn't as good as the cast around Kobe. I think you have to factor in how their play affects the team. Neither team had a great roster in those years though.

they also played in the dreadful east

No. Just no.

Lebron did not league in any regular season statistic except for minutes played. He shot 41% in the playoffs. He led the league in some volume playoff stats only because his team played in 20 games that postseason. In fact, he even played worse in the postseason than in the regular season, which happened to be an abnormally below average season for his standards.
