I do not like most of the people in sports media. But I have a hard time celebrating anyone losing their job without having another locked up first. Even if that person is bad at their job, and even if they have clear political and social agendas. Layoffs are never a good sign.

He isn’t known for his insight or expertise. He’s not respected by his peers. He has no contacts or sources. No one has ever sought out his opinion on anything.
Does “USA Today” beside his name carry weight with some people? Why?
Gannett must distribute his articles to their small town newspapers. No one is reading him in USA Today. He’s probably the only CFB reporter in a lot of places because Gannett has laid off the local reporters as part of their massive layoffs in recent years.
