Not sure why, but I am interested to see how they look. I think they're trying to go for a darker/meaner look. I'm thinking a black carbon fiber looking helmet w/ a red pitchfork...and black unis.

It will look just fine on TV. The gray on gray is a little dumb, but the regular home and aways look fine to me.

Just one of the newer trends. Although, Washington State has been using 2 helmets for quite some time. The silver/gray has been their home helmets while the red shells with the white logo has been their aways. They've just added that third one that I'm assuming would be an optional home helmet.

I would be upset if LSU decided to come up with a new helmet design. Sometimes it doesn't end up as intended (ex. Toonces), and I also perfer the history.

Technically LSU already has three helmet designs. Gold, white, and the pro combat.
I usually side with history and college football lore when it comes to uniforms, but I have no problem with a lesser school trying to mix it up and rebrand itself. As long as precautions are taken to preserve history while being innovative. There are a lot of copy cats out there jumping on the "all-whites" and "all-blacks" bandwagon. Black is just so overdone now in sports that it's a joke. Now all college football teams look the same.
