I just called my friend, they are hosting a press conference today I'm pretty sure.

I hear they are gonna turn Zephyrs stadium into a Tshirt shop.

I'd be down with Double A because of the chance of seeing more future MLB stars, but man, Zephyr Field would be way too big for that level of play.
Drive up to see the AA stadium in Pearl, for example. It's very nice, but quite small. Still has a bigger gift shop than Zephyr Field, though.
ETA: For that matter, I think The Shrine on Airline is just a little too big, period.

oh well... i haven't been to a game in five years...
just can't get into minor league ball if no one cares who wins. college ball might not be a better level of play, but people care

Where the hell did they play from 1993-1997?

You're right Nola has enough people for a aaa team but no one goes to the games

That's a shame. They had trouble drawing at UNO but for a while after moving into Zephyr Field they were doing very well attendance wise.

maybe losing the Zephyrs might help the Hornets, VooDoo, Jesters, Tulane, and UNO

I usually make about 10 or so games a year. I agree with what most are saying about AA > AAA so I would be in favor of the move if that is on the table.

I don't get why y'all are saying you like AA better than AAA. In AA most of the players are unknowns and only a handful will ever make it out of the minors. In AAA many players have spent time in the league and are more recognizable.

AAA guys are just punching a clock mostly... prospects play AA.
plus the away team cities are closer in AA. you might see your team play somewhere else.

You are right about this. You can go to a game on any give night and a guy steps up to bat and you think "oh damn I didn't know he wasn't in the majors any more". But you do have more big time prospects in AA who could be the next big thing. I guess that makes the two leagues what and what.
