Needham road and 45 makes the most sense right now
They're looking at woodlands area hard. Then Conroe. But along 45 makes most sense

There are a lot of nearby cities in the AA Southern League, so that part would be cool. But I just think a city like New Orleans should have a AAA team (obviously not quite large enough for a major league team).
Agree that AAA seems like it's for bigger cities but AA really has more premier prospects and less of the "AAAA" players that will really be nothing more than just career backups who get shuttled back and forth.

I just wish they could find somewhere to fit a stadium in the city. Zephyr is a pain in the arse to get to and isn't very convenient for a majority of the metro area.

I'd love to have a AA team in Louisiana. As you said, the premier prospects always come through AA, but are rarely with AAA.

The site was chosen because the majority of their season ticket holders were assumed to be located in met

It's relatively quick and easy to get to Zephyrs from New Orleans using either I-10 or Earhart. The location is fine. Plus, fans going to Saints training camp next door have no problem getting there to pack the place. The problem is, results in minor league baseball don't matter while the entertainment itself has limitations outside of the cheaper family night aspect.

I was kind of thinking let's replace the Iberville projects with a baseball stadium.

20 mil??? that's it?? benson carries that in his front pocket

Are you kidding with the location complaint? Zephyr field(not "the Zephyr" like Hawthorne calls it) is located a few miles down Airline Hwy from the NOLA line. Why would anyone besides 20somethings want to drive down, park and walk in one of N.O.'s shittier areas with their family for a game?
also, AA is superior to AAA ball. The future stars all seem to skip AAA except for when the Astros were the major league affiliate.

Huntsville has been trying to move their team to Baton Rouge suburbs(last choice was Livingston) if someone built them a stadium, i would imagine they would relocate immediately to Zephyr. Hell, Double A baseball is better than Triple A now. Most teams call up studs directly from Double A
this could be an improvement

If y'all had your pick of all MLB teams for the Zephyrs to be associated with, who would you pick?
Personally I'd like the Nats (again), but that is just me...NOLA obviously doesn't have a ton of connection with DC.

What's up with the SKeeters? Do they have an affiliate? I think, correct me if I'm wrong, that they are just kind of out there on their own right now.
My friend works for the Zephyrs and doesn't seem very worried about the Zephyrs leaving NOLA.
