If they both go undefeated and get in interest and ratings will be lower.

Could this be the tipping point for a 8 team playoff?

No, Bama and another football factory being left out will be the beginning of 8 team!

No, because neither is going undefeated.

Minnesota is like 2015 Iowa. Slightly above average team that took advantage of a weak schedule and had every break and fumble fall their way.

Why should that be a factor if it is based on the “best teams”?

If you want it to be run based on highest ratings, just make it USC, Bama, OSU, and either Michigan or ND every year.

Much more likely.

I don't know about Baylor, but half of the country is going to be rowing the boat if Minny gets in.

I agree, although I think this Minnesota team might be a little better than that Iowa team.

The difference is Minnesota won't draw a weaker Michigan State team out of the East. They'll draw the full blown monster of Ohio State.

Bad question at this point. Either Ohio State or Minnesota will finish the season with at least one loss.

I don’t know. I was not interested at all last year and have no desire to watch Bama Clemson round whatever

But I’d watch Minnesota Baylor

I would be less interested in Alabama and their shitty schedule getting in AGAIN than I would be Minnesota and/or Baylor getting in. It's someone different, and if they are unbeaten, they deserve to be there. Alabama doesn't.

Make it 6. If you win your P5 conference and are ranked in the top 10, you’re in. That will leave you one or two “at large” bids every year for “eye tests”. 99.9% of the time if you win a P5 you’re going to be a top ten team, so this rewards teams for winning their conference and gives some incentive. And the top ten requirement prevents some bogus 7-5 team from getting a shot at a title. Highest ranked two get a first round bye.

Preserves the importance of the regular season while giving some meaning to playing the CCG
