Any good advice from anyone? I ETS out of the army in March, so I just started applying. Just applied with the Dallas Cowboys. I am a Saints fan, but NFL is NFL when it comes to employment.

this should be good. What are you trying to do? If its much more than a ticket taker or usher, you probably won't get it.

In the interview, don't say you are a really big sports fan and have been a fan your whole life. No one cares.

It's all about networking. Can you think of anyone you know who works for a sports team in any capacity? Doesn't matter if it's your Aunt's ex-boyfriend's little brother. It's still something.

I'd make a list of 20 or so contacts (family, friends) and find out from each one if they know of anyone involved in the sports industry.

You've got a better chance at getting a job this way than turning in a piece of paper.

Just my 2 cents.

Did you apply with Legends Sales & Marketing or with Cowboys Stadium?

Look for jobs on monster or Craigslist that do sports marketing and offer residential marketing opportunities.

Just curious really. I have experience in networking with cisco call manager, microsoft server and Active Directory. Just stuff I did in the army.

Thanks for the Costanza reference. Haha!

Any job you have a shot at getting will be some type of marketing position that you'll most likely hate. The pay sucks.

Do you have a degree?

Sport admin preferably.

Then do you have experience in sports? Internships etc

Then do you have sales experience? You'll have to start there more than likely.

And most importantly, who do you know?

The job market has become very competitive, especially the NOLA market.

My advice: take whatever you can get to get your foot in the door, if you can even get that. Internships are your best bet. Don't expect to make much money for awhile. Good luck

You don't need a Sport Admin degree.
