you have media in every part of this country screaming for his resignation. I imagine if you took a poll of NFL fans, Roger isn't looked fondly upon.

yes, for saints fans there is the ADDED issue of bountygate, no question

I can't be more clear than to say it isn't the ray rice video that has people calling for his job (obviously some) It is the immediate lie that was told, and a terrible one at that since you can't undo 6 months of print from dozens of guys with the track record and sources.

Lying is bad enough, but this is the "ok, come clean you've been nailed to the wall here, we all know but you still keep lying to us like we must be fricking stupid" variety

and it pisses people off. People don't want a business they frequent to keep telling them what a devalued dumb shite they are. I think it pisses off people too because they know they can't stop watching...yet

In all seriousness the President of NOW making a statement the commish must resign.. I mean that's agenda if there ever was one. Liberal organization as it gets

the NFL commish must resign because he didn't come down hard enough on Ray Rice, though Ray Rice is now unemployed. What does NOW expect at this point?

It makes no sense, other than to make this National story about Domestic violence is horrible.

As if us normal folk didn't know that

the liberal playbook is never pass up an opportunity to highlight someone else's sins to promote your agenda.

Whenever a story comes out, no matter what is, people start clamoring for the harshest possible punishment. The media force-feeds you this idea because it is polarizing and gets people talking. Falling for that should be an insult to your intelligence, not "the NFL never saw the video".

...you "can't take it anymore"

yeah, I've reached a point of oversaturation...I love the product so much, but there is only so many times and ways the NFL can say, "thanks dumb shite" before I cannot watch anymore. It's that simple.

and somehow the NFL is "insulting your intelligence".

I'm speaking as a fan, and they did this to every fan. It's pretty clear they think we're fricking stupid and/or so addicted they could frick our spouses and we'd say "thank you" For me, the enjoyment I get from it doesn't outweigh, at least not materially, the regret I feel because I am so opposed to them over so many things...it's really just the straw that broke the camel's back.

You are going to stop watching the NFL

yep, and going to profootballtalk, si or anyone else who is a league mouthpiece and makes serious dough for being such.

Yep

And his rep isn't favorable because of the media spin.

Zimmerman was consider a cold blood murderer until his trial proved otherwise.

Because everyone in the media wants roger's head sort of makes my point.

I highly doubt anyone will know what Roger has seen or was told 6 months ago..but the media is right on point to make sure you know he is lying, right?

just remember how the entire nation was manipulated over similar national stories...that involved public outrage, rioting etc...

Ended up being the public was mislead... The media never apologizes.. it just feeds what the masses eat up..

the media's outrage over the actual tape is stupid...what the frick did they think was on it

now the outrage is that he's been busted lying in addition to that

I have a problem with the rice suspension because repeat pot smokers get 16 games...again, they just turn me off both morally and ethically.

Had they said, "Yeah, we saw the tape, we thought 2 games was fair at the time, we already said we regret it...we changed the policy, and that's it" then nothing would've changed from MY perspective...today would be much like last week and every week before

but they're lying, and I know they're lying...and they keep telling me (the consumer) they're not like I'm fricking retarded

that is where the calls for termination should come from...what else has he lied about?

not because he didn't punish someone hard enough or his moral judgment has sucked, we knew that shite last month

do you realize what a complicit sports media the NFL has had right? That's pretty much ruined now...his rep isn't favorable with the fans and hasn't been for a long long time...with the media, his rep isn't favorable for the wrong reasons, which I've said all along. It is a PC witch hunt. However, a witch hunt is warranted because he is lying his arse of, and at every turn he's confronted with evidence to the contrary he doubles down. He deserves to go, I don't care if that is the actual reason he does go

and you haven't been paying attention if you haven't seen that roger goodell has bent the knee to the PC mob, brought it into the league and plays that game with the best of them. So I wouldn't defend him for one second as that same mob becomes his undoing

I wouldn't disagree, I hate these witch hunts, this one happens to serve my interests so yeah, I'm good. I've said that all along

the media hasn't force fed ME anything. They originally wanted his head for not being sensitive enough, while at the same time, I wanted his head for lying and for ruining football for me because I just don't enjoy it as much and my interest is starting to nosedive(yeah, I'm not above being petty)

quote:

Falling for that should be an insult to your intelligence

please point to where I fell for anything. I said they were lying on Monday, the minute they came out and said they didn't have it. I feel nothing when I see janay rice getting knocked out, that isn't why I want him fired, but I'm more than happy to take what I can get

and I've never said otherwise

I find it insulting to have the NFL lie to me repeatedly ABOUT ANYTHING...I've felt they've been doing it for some time, now I have confirmation, they're response is to bunker down and ride out the storm, meaning it will continue...as a consumer I feel about as devalued as you can, so I'm not watching...it's really that simple

Meh, people think he's going to just give up a $30 million/year job because this is the latest national outrage.

Goodell is doing his job, which is taking the heat for the owners. As long as the finger doesn't get pointed towards them and none of this affects the bottom line (which it won't) I don't see him going anywhere.

People just need time to find the new thing to be outraged about. Give it a week.

The same media you are condemning right now where the same outlet Goodell used to push his agenda with the bounty gate saga.

The Goodell & the league office used the media to mislead millions of football fans into believe the Saints organization was running a vicious, hit squad while paying players for these hits.

While fans of other organizations had no vested interest in the situation other then what they were being feed by the media, many took what they were feed, hook, line & sinker.

So you must excuse the Saints fans who actually followed this entire story from the beginning to the end. We have been exposed to the numerous lies surrounding the entire situation. One of the main driving points Goodell used in making his disciplinary decision is that Saints had been warned before to stop but they failed to listen to those warnings. Scott Fujita along with the other Saints players were suspended because they were accused of being the ring leaders & continuing the bounty system after they warned to stop after the 2009 season. Well guess what? Fujita left through free agency for Cleveland after that season. So how in the hell could have Fujita been a part of a so called system when he wasn't even a member of the organization anymore? Those lies were one of the reasons the suspensions against the other players had to be dropped.

Now the same media Goodell used as his personal PR staff for that whole saga, is now using the same power to slander him while it appears he misled the public in his ruling of this incident? Excuse me if I don't have any pity towards to Goodell in this situation. He deserves every bit of criticism he receives. Like James Harrison tweeted yesterday, "it ain't fun when the rabbit got the gun."

the owners didn't go on cbs and lie, the owners didn't release a statement that was a lie...lying wasn't the owners decision

he's taking his own heat
