New episode aired last night. I've drank the Kool Aid with him. Last couple years I perceived him as this corny guy with a bunch of cliches, but he believes in every single bit of what he's preaching. And his players seem to buy it as well.

Also the scene where one of his sons asked if he could just take a day off during football season was tough. Always forget that the families don't get to see these on a normal basis.

ETA: his wife was front and center and she's still hot

She looks like The mom on the Adams family.

He does a lot of the same tactics that a Jim Harbaugh does and Jim has done well for himself

It's his attention to detail and work ethic that will make him rise fast.

The story about him composing a binder as an assistant coach on things he wants to do when he eventually becomes a head coach told me enough.

Most young coaches have those and compile them as they move around and up. They're fairly commonplace.

I think he's going to struggle at Minnesota. It's an extremely tough ppace to win consistently. I think he's a good coach but he'll be lucky to ever win even 9 games in a sesson there. I see a lot of 7-5, 8-4 seasons with a few upsets sprinkled in here and there against someone like Michigan. But to do even that at Minnesota will be very difficult.

if he can consistently go 8-4, with a couple of 10 win seasons at Minny and some upsets, that's the equivalent of a big time program going 11-1, at which point the major programs will be beating his door down

Honestly if your Minnesota, you'd be happy with that. 7 wins or above consistently with a couple of special seasons mixed in. But he's not staying there long. Look at this guy, he's motivated in getting something bigger. Minnesota is just that next rung in the ladder

They just won 9 games, without him.

This guy is great. How does LSU not even call this guy for a phone interview? He has a binder too, and he's had his for a lot longer than O.

To be fair, the Gophers are coming off a nine-win season, albeit against one of the easiest schedules in the country, and a couple other eight-win seasons this decade.

P.J. Fleck offers an interesting case, in my opinion. His ability to motivate the room is not doubted. He did well at a Western Michigan program that has been up-and-down for the last 50 years. The cupboard wasn't completely bare; Bill Cubit did OK before Fleck. No doubt, though, Fleck did an impressive job recruiting in the MAC.

How well he builds Minnesota is a good question. Current 2018 class is ranked Top-30, but more to do with number of prospects already committed than quality itself. With respect to quality, it's not a stark difference from Jerry Kill and Tracy Claeys. Fleck has been noted to isolate players from parents/guardians during unofficial visits, when those figures aren't often around, and pressure kids to commit. More often than not, players will commit and stick. There are others, however, that will decommit. Minnesota had four over a three month period between March and June. At a school like Minnesota that hasn't competed for much over the last half-century, these pressure tactics may or may not pay off.

No reason Minnesota shouldn't start this season 7-0 or 6-1. After that, I could see anything from 2-3 to 0-5.

Not to mention, they're in the non Michigan/Ohio State division. So the road to Indianapolis is much easier

They are both good looking but I'd go with wife one without knowing if she is a total bitch or not

meh. While not unusual, I bet that's not the norm. Most people just "wing it"
