Leaders Division:
Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Wisconsin
What a cakewalk for Wisconsin to the Big Ten title game. Purdue, Illinois, and Indiana are the only eligible competition.

Serious question: do you guys think SEC schools are able to "cover it up" better because they are in smaller areas and not bigger cities? This PSU thing just shows that the cops can be in on it in small communities.
Except for the fact that almost every sec teams has players get arrested.

I think PSU is complicit in the sanctions.
It gets it out of the way and the NCAA can look like they are doing something about it.
There is no way the NCAA moved this fast without PSU asking them to do so.

What are the academic requirements for a football scholarship to a big 10 school compared to the SEC?
i have been on this train for awhile now. many people think the athletes have the same entrance requirements as students. wrong. it's funny how we compete for many of the same guys so it's safe to say the athletes have about the same requirements everywhere. it is the great leveler. not so at most private schools but then again they don't publish their entrance requirements so who knows when they reach down.

wo of the four "bellcow" Big Ten programs are under bowl bans next year, and both had to fire their head coaches for lying and covering up football scandals. But yea, the only reason the SEC wins is because we cheat and will do anything to win.
Nah, in all seriousness I think the NCAA sanctions on Penn State will be fun to watch tomorrow but will eventually be overturned either in an appeals committee or in a courtroom. Emmert is botching this in an attempt to look decisive and strong. Even private organizations have to follow their own bylaws and provide some form of due process.
I think what happened was that Emmert got permission from the college presidents to go after Penn State. They probably granted him the ability to forego the normal NCAA investigation rules.
Penn State's pres probably agreed to the punishment without a problem as well.
