It's not even like they are being pragmatic and looking into both sides of the argument. It's just negativity.
the media thrives on fear porn. there hasn’t been any positive stories since any of this began, it’s pretty sad.
and “sports writers” go through the same journalism schools as any other, heavily skewed

Yes he is.
He’s just reporting that journalists are taking offense to twitter mob saying they want the season canceled
Doesn’t matter about what he thinks, from that post that is 100% what he’s saying

Yep. Also how bout an interview with the lodge (msu shop) in Starkville to see how much of their revenue is in football season . How bout an assessment of how many restaurants in Stillwater have been affected by students being out in the second half of the school year, then a follow up with their projected shortfall if no football season.
Like this stuff isn’t hard if you aren’t blinded by your politics or by being right and trying to push conversation to what you predicted.
Conversely to be balanced you can write an article about the affects of covid in fit males between 18-21.

I’m not sure they are “rooting” for a canceled season, because I think they all love football and it would be better for their job, but they are some pompous pricks who would love to be right.

No college football means media layoffs
Posted on 8/9/20 at 10:42 am to pelicansfan123
I think it’s all how your perceive it. Maybe you are just angry and taking everything a bad way?

plus, the financial destruction of a lot of non P5 athletic programs and a massive economic downturn in the small cities/towns they reside in. I’ve said this since the beginning, but the economic impact of COVID will dwarf the lives it takes.

Ross Dillinger is a main culprit of this. He keeps a tally of players testing positive, sitting out and stories of sick family members. He never mentions 99.9% of players had no symptoms and were back at workouts in a couple of weeks.

It’s sensationalism. Today the new talking point is how these players could be at risk for long term heart defects if they get covid, despite the data on this being a very small sample size.
How about we give a voice to the 99% of players that want to play?

How about a survey of MAC players and how many are going to go to classes and how many are going home?
Then a consideration of which is more safe having slightly heightened exposure but far more surveillance measures (asymptomatic temp checks, screening testing etc) vs slightly less exposure but absolutely no screening
Journalists are so lazy to do any of that though and only printing their opinions

I feel like a lot of sports journalists root against sports in general. It’s like they don’t even like sports and the only reason they are writing about sports is because they were assigned to cover it. But they’d rather be doing political journalism.
It's painfully obvious Adam Schefter is dying to do some political reporting.

Dellenger, Dan Wolken and Darren Rovell are all repeatedly guilty of this but all act as if everyone else is insane for calling them out on openly rooting essentially against the justification of their profession.
Wolken had a tweet with a screen shot a few weeks ago showing a rise in cases and typed out himself below it “so how’s your college football season looking now”

Here’s a Ross tweet. Lol

An overshadowed issue is now topic de jour on commissioner calls. COVID-related heart damage. @SINow spoke to team Drs, ADs & the leading expert on a trend striking fear in NCAA leaders. “Commissioners are finally figuring it out & going, ‘Oh my gosh!'"

I agree with this... the economic impact will be huge. But what’s so sad about that is , it doesn’t matter what party you go with, it’s about human beings a new stimulus will help a lot. But then again you have got to try and protect players at any sport.

Now that is some good predicting!
