Clearly interference. Right call but dumb play.

What's the exact rule for that play in college?

You can't touch the fielder or slide past the bag.

He slid right into 2nd base. It's not the runner's fault the 2nd baseman is standing on the bag.

That is TOTALLY on the runner. Umps made the right call. The runner was a fricking dumbass sliding that late and into the runner.

How on EARTH is it the right call? It's a judgement call. THE RUNNER WAS ON FIRST BASE BY THE TIME THE BALL WAS FLIPPED TO SECOND

it doesn't matter what would have happened had they not collided.

you can't take a dude out like that.

He really didn't start his slide until he was already to the base

He slid THROUGH the bag. Clearly a take-out slide and clearly a violation. And I want SHSU to win. But not like that.

This game has had everything including an interference call and a manager ejection all in 21st.

You're wrong. Second Baseman was in the base path.

I'm sorry man but if you can't understand why that's interference I don't know what to tell you b/c that was obvious as all get out.

That was INCREDIBLY dumb by the runner going to 2nd. No way that they were gonna get the DP.

Exactly. The ump at 2nd called it right away, and called it exactly correct. If anyone wants to go all crybaby over the fact that the guy at first couldn't have been thrown out, be mad at the Sam Houston player who went in with unnecessary contact.

Late slide into the bag. In college, you can't interfere with the player attempting to turn the double play.

Regardless of the batter easily being safe, the interference on the slide negates this and results in the automatic double play

well, leadoff walks score like 300% of the time.. so im sure SHS will get an unassisted triple play to get out of this..
