Actual is reported. I guess it would be the same every week regardless, if paid was reported...but since it's actual, the amount of students that show up make the difference.

tulane is going to pay about 1.4 mil more than toledo if that is what it takes. 2 mil is their reservation value

people bagging on the students not going to the game, it's because the school has done nothing to foster support and hired 2 shite bottom feeding coaches in a row...plus the whole dome thing. most students (undergrad where you develop your "school spirit") don't have cars, so don't want to get up early to be shuttled downtown to tailgate under an interstate and watch the doormat of conference fricking usa

There have been several media sources that said Cowen will be interviewing people starting this week and that the "mentioned big names are interested". ie RR and ML.

Could get interesting...

The 2 million top range figure is what I am hearing as well.

I have done a 180 on the stadium thing. They play in a world class facility now and I think that the money to build an ocs can be better spent ... imho

i thought LSU reported paid as well

There's the number that Borne says over the PA, which this week was 93 something and I thought was the paid one. Then there's the "actual" number that Lazare apparantly gets from LSU and posts on Sundays, which this week was 83000 with 10k no shows.

it's not about the facility, it's about ease of access and location for a college football stadium...a 30k stadium is needed in UPTOWN new orleans for tulane football to compete.

Rick Dickson agrees with you and my point is moot any way because the money is almost raiased to build an ocs.

your point isn't moot, world class facilities like those are something to consider and maybe if tulane becomes competitive (seems laughable right now) and there is a major major texas/tulane game in NOLA it's pretty nice to be able to switch it to the superdome.

the stadium thing i've been saying since 07 when i started here...it has to happen

BTW I hate walking by the athletic complex and parking lot knowing these fricking idiots are sunbathing where fran tarkenton, len dawson, hank stram, bud grant, terry bradshaw, I could go on...played fricking super bowls and where tulane once actually competed with other college teams

they've built up way too much hype and excitement to not get one of those 2 or at least the guy from LSU...they have to hit this one out of the fricking park

Honestly I hope they run as far away from frank wilson as possible.

Actually ran into ed orgeron over the weekend and when I told him where I was from and about the tulane job he winked and said he loves at usc.

glad he loves it there...I Know Leach is a great coach and would probably be considered the better hire, but 1. I still can't wrap my head around him falling this far, I have a feeling he'll be a rebel soon, and 2. Rich Rod has been here before, knows the area, knows how to recruit this area and he, like leach, can build a program from nothing

here's the deal... why build a new stadium if you eventually want to outgrow it?

it might have served its purpose if this is the case, but if they play every game in the superdome except for one or two, some people will wonder why they built it

so renovate and modernize tad gormley, or just keep it in the Dome and spend the stadium money on coaches and a practice bubble

They had it right, scheduling Memphis for homecoming. Memphis is terrible, I guess Tulane is simply worse, not hard to imagine.

one, I wouldn't expect them to outgrow it in the next 15 - 20 years, and obviously you design it with the hopes of expanding it in the future

it's not about the venue, it's about the location and city park is not UPTOWN...they have to play in UPTOWN new orleans, and we would actually have an exciting atmosphere

the hullabaabababbalooou did a great article on how the superdome killed tulane football and the college atmosphere...great read if you can find it online, apparently the faculty and students were against it from the beginning
