He was talking about LJ's playoff performance last year, I compared it to Todd's performance in 1982.

A gimmick player, yes. A starting NFL QB, not even close.

He could be used quite well as a Taysom Hill type player. But an every day NFL starter? Hell no. It’ll be fun to watch the shite show.

Based on what genius? In the last 10 years they have been a shitshow how many times?
Is he dumb as a brick? Yes. Ravens aren’t winning a SB with him but he is a nightmare to defend and Harbaugh can coach.
Jesus, I cannot believe I am defending LJ

They’re gonna have to back off the running game. Can’t sustain 17 carries / game. He’s gonna die.

I’m not ready to write him off. Neither should Baltimore. Look what they paying him vs Winston, Mariota, etc. He worked for their system last year.

Run him to death until he can show he has NFL accuracy. Cut bait if he gets hurt before he can pass.

Jackson's cap hit is like $2M. Kaep reportedly wanted $20M

says who?

He was out of work.
3 million and a feasible bonus system up to 5 million if he actually starts and wins 1 to 5 games.

Jackson salary cap hit 2019 - $2.1MM

Winston salary cap hit - $20.9MM

Mariota hit - $20.9MM

The point is, Balt paying their QB peanuts and he still developing. Maybe he turns the corner, maybe he doesn’t. But they paying him 10x less than other teams. And Lamar led Baltimore to a division title last year.

Makes sense now?

Bold prediction, we'll see 4 starting QBs for Baltimore this season.

That’s because those guys are in the final year of their rookie deal when you get a substantial raise. The comparison doesn’t make any sense. It’s not like they had a choice of those two options.

They still invested draft capital in him. As well as changed their offense to better suite him. If Jackson busts (likely) it may stunt the growth of other players as well playing in a lame duck system.

The team picked up the option for this final year. They could have cut them.

Which has nothing to do with the situation with Lamar Jackson and the ravens.

I agree with this. Good point.

No they didn’t. Baltimore had a losing record and then decided to start LJ. He turned the season around to win the division.

I’m not saying LJ is the second coming of Steve Young, I’m just saying there is no reason to give up on him now. His gameplay isn’t sustainable with his poor accuracy and high carries. But you can’t deny he was effective his rookie year.

Does he turn the corner? I’d bet against it. But I’d rather try to develop him than...what else?

No one is saying they should cut him right now. You’re making an argument that no one is making

Correct. But it has everything to do with your statement that Tennessee and TB were forced to pay their QB $20+MM.

Let’s face it, Baltimore has won a SB with a less talented QB. Some could argue they won multiple SB with two less talented QBs

Yeah, you are. My statement was Baltimore shouldn’t cut bait on LJ since he was effective his rookie year and other NFL teams are doing much worse with their QB position. I got multiple replies that this isn’t true. But it is.
