How have we gone this far and no one's mentioned Rod Woodson? Although he played CB and S, but that's just a technicality.

Because he kept getting burned by receivers, but did return 4 INTs for TDs. So they thought maybe he could be a return man so they put him back there in the first preseason game to see if he could.

Kinda like Devin Hester is athletic enough to be a return man but the Bears moved him from CB to WR.

Rod Smith, Troy Brown, and Tim Brown all returned punts in their mid-thirties and none of them had good hips/speed at the time so that's not the only factor in determining who returns punts.
