Agreed their picks are more attractive but not nearly like they were this time last year. The Kings pick has lost a ton of value and would be #14 right now. The Memphis pick is top 8 and then top 6 protected. Maybe it’s a high lotto pick in 2021 but it’s always a roll of the dice trying to determine picks that far out. Remember when Boston made the Fultz/Tatum trade and received the Kings pick, everyone thought it would be a top 3 pick down the road. Also I think their Clippers pick is lottery protected for the next two seasons iirc

I know you hate the thought of paying Ingram and we discussed this the other day, but I would be flabbergasted if Jaylen Brown’s extension isn’t in the ballpark and very close to whatever Ingram gets imo

I completely agree Lonzo and Lavar would be a disaster in New Orleans tho

I don't really get this.

Brown is 12.6, 4.3 and 1.7 with a 13 PER. Ingram is 17.2, 4.9, 3.2 and a 12.7 PER. Same number of years in the league.

The picks are decent, but unlikely to be high lottery for the reasons DR laid out. A pick in the 10-12 range vs the remainder of the Lakers assets, well, there are a ton of busts in the 10-12 range.

Just because of your comment saying that you were "almost over it". If you were resigned to the fact that it's not happening during the season, then you would realize that none of this posturing that is going on really matters.

I’d consider NYK’s pick plus parts as long as it’s top 3 over anything the Lakers offer.

I agree, but I'd just be surprised to see it materialize. Hope it does though.

To me a Bos deal centered around Tatum, and a Knicks deal centered around a top 3 pick are a toss up depending on what else is included.

Lakers deals aren't even comparable.

Ingram is someone who needs the ball in his hands to be effective, can't really play that well off ball. Also, Brown is a better defender.

Brown plays less minutes per game than Ingram yet Ingram is just as efficient at a higher volume. And I would say most unbiased fans would consider Ingram’s upside to be a bit higher than Brown’s.

This is what confuses me when posters otb shite on Ingram but get excited about Jaylen Brown. And I like Brown and think he’s a good player

I like Brown and think he's a good player too. I just don't understand when people act like he's a centerpiece of a trade and Ingram is terrible when their production is basically identical except for Ingram's higher minutes and usage.

I figure some of this is spillover dislike of the Lakers, but seeing people go off about guys like Knox and Brown baffles me. They're good, talented young players, but neither's shown more than Ingram.

It's always better to have a higher pick. Just evaluate talent well and don't take Marvin Bagley over Luka and you'll buck the trend.

The #2 pick is not bad

The players certain teams have picked at that spot have been less than their anticipated value in recent years.

The idea that the spot is cursed or something is the level of sleep-deprived lunacy I would expect from someone who has lived in this thread for the last 2 days

Clips about to get in on the action

I wouldn't want BOS's deal if Brown is the centerpiece. Same reason I don't want a Lakers deal centered around Ingram.
