Watched Catholic New Iberia at Ascension Episcopal.

Catholic has a ton of pitching, led by two juniors, a sophomore and a freshman, who got the final five outs.

John David Hidalgo and Lane Fenske are juniors. Fenske is committed to Nebraska.

Hidalgo has been getting publicity for his hitting on the big prep baseball Twitter/X pages. He has an unusual delivery out of the stretch, raising his hands slowly, deliberately and highly before coming to a stop. He throws a hard breaking pitch. Held to Ascension Episcopal to two hits and a run vs. a strike zone that increasingly tightened (not a criticism).

Fenske hits in the middle of the lineup. Hidalgo batted sixth in that game.

Huge letdown loss for us. Between celebrating the district championship game last night and kids looking forward to prom tonight just wasn’t our day.

Starter for Dunham is a legit SO arm, Class of 26

Had a couple 1 hitters earlier this year

First no hitter today. 5Ks, 1 BB

Substitutions looked to take place in last inning, but surely Mandeville has much better pitching than they showed today

Logan S of Dunham works out with same pitching instructor as my son and the kid is legit. So is Sawyer Pruitt from Live Oak that works with same guy as well.

Never liked playing on prom day.... never as player, as a coach, as a parent and again as a coach.

as an umpire I saw some real disasters on prom day as well
