It also helps if that QB is named Patrick fricking Mahommes...

Or if the D coordinator is named Jim Johnson.

he drafted Clyde early for really a cherry on top and that's backfired.

Backfired…..

Was that before or after they proceeded to win a Super Bowl the year after drafting Clyde?

Roseman just spent first round draft capital and a ton of money for an elite WR.

Clyde's scrimmage yards have gone from 1100 to 650 to 450 in his career and it's very questionable that they'll give him a second contract. That's not what you want from a 1st rd pick, so yeah backfired.

Yes he had a good rookie season but he can’t stay healthy.

Other way around They drafted Clyde the year after they won the SB. They took him over Taylor Dobbins and Swift. They could also have drafted Antonio Gibson in a later round, he would be perfect for their offense

I think for most teams, WRs do come into play (over OTs*), but Reid is such a historically amazing offensive mind, he can scheme around losing an elite one (see: this year).

*Data has shown that investing the same money across the board with OL is more optimal than over-spending for OTs. You want your OL to be above-average, not amazing. Don't overpay to make it amazing. And draft well (which is what KC has done to offset the large salaries)

While true, you have to consider the context when he was drafted. It was a pick that was certainly questioned. They had a playoff team led by Alex Smith at the time.

There are always teams like the Commanders that go 7-9 because their talent is in the wrong spots on the field.

They're a bad example. They've invested in pass rushers, CB, and tried to invest in QBs.

The Colts are a better example.

By morons mostly

The easiest take is saying someone will bust, but the dumbest take on Mahomes was idiots claiming he’d suck because all Texas Tech QBs sucks, even though he clearly had the physical tools guys like Kingsbury and Harrell did not

Wrong, Clyde doesn't have a SB ring but Honeybadger got one. I think KC is going to trade Clyde after the season.
