Seriously?

Seriously you don't know about the greatest defensive player who oh by the way is joining the 500 homer club when it's all said and done.. a club that consists of nothing but HOFers.
yeah seriously.

He may not get into the HOF but he is a fringe and legit question considering his career isn't even over at this point so who knows. Look at his play and stats. Dudes only 35 by the way.
I'd love to see a player of today do what he did consistently for those incredible 10 years in ATL.

I think he makes an interesting case. I think pretty much everything that needs to be said essentially has been.
One more thing to think about is that other elite defensive players have made the Hall without Andruw's power. Jones brings a fantastic defensive resume with 400+ HR to boot. That at least makes him worthy for discussion.
However, I think he should make it primarily on his defense, not bat. His OPS+ of 112 is obviously good, but not what I was hoping for out of a guy with such power.
I think my biggest reasons for letting him was simply that he was one of the best defensive players ever and that I am a softy to let in a lot of these Hall of Very Good Players.
On the other hand (and a little less seriously), when he was Fat Andruw, he was one of the worst players for two years. I know it was a short stretch, but he was so fricking bad with the Dodgers it was a punchline only three years after his marquee season.

He could have been a HOF but he won't make it. His BA and hits should be higher. If he was closer to .300 and 2500 hits he would probably make it due to his defense and HR's.
AJ is just an above average player that will hit 450+ hrs.

If you don't think he's in the discussion of the best fielder ever then you don't know baseball.
