Sounds great to me.
How many starters is Stanford losing on offense this year?

Why would he say this then change his mind? He already knows where he will be picked

EXACTLY how I feel about these situations. It's not like a bright kid can't finish the degree in the the next few offseasons or even after his career is over. Take the sure thing, save it and do what you want with your life.

I believe 6 or 7 on offense and 4 on defense.

Some of you must not be lawyers. He says:
"I am committed to earning my degree in architectural design from Stanford University and am on track to accomplish this at the completion of the spring quarter of 2012", Luck said in a statement.
Well, the first two sentences say he is staying in school and skipping the early entry process. To be more technical, this isn't the NBA, where guys are free in the summers to take summer classes. Many guys have graduated in 2-3 years by taking summer sessions.
For football, there isn't time to do that because of training camps. The fall semester is obviously not going to happen, so the only real possibility is the spring term. Luck will be on a shitty team so he can probably do that, but that leads to exactly one trimester of classes before Spring 2012, which doesn't sound feasible.

Harbaugh is going to the NFL and Stanford is losing a good bit on offense. So Luck must really, really, not want to play for Carolina

Andrew Luck is a fricking moron.
1) Guaranteed millions of dollars
2) Can't improve his draft stock
3) Can get hurt

I believe it is pretty moronic to call someone who is putting an education over quick pay day a moron. Dude $$ isn't everything. Maybe he is hoping NOT to go #1 to an awful team. IDK, maybe he thinks it will be best going later in the 1st to a more proven team. Maybe in the grand schem of things that may be a better option.
Maybe he really likes college life. He will be more of a household name for the entire season next year, so maybe his name recognition might be better for marketing deals when he finally does go pro.

Luck and James finish 1-2 in the Heisman next year, IMO.

Staying to get an education is the biggest sham i have ever heard off. He will be able to get his education WHENEVER and HOWEVER he wants.
Quick pay day? He getting a multi year multi million dollar contract to be, what i guess would be his dream an NFL quarter back, is not a quick pay day.

I've got 100 bucks that says he ends up more successful than you in life.
This kid and his family are pretty much what all of us wish our kids and others nowadays were like, yet we call them morons when they decide to stick around and get a college degree? We bitch about how greedy and money hungry people are, then when someone acts the opposite as that we bitch about that too.
The kid's dad is a multi millionaire and he's deciding to prolong his college experience by a year to come back and get his degree and be BMOC for another year. Any of you guys wish you had had an extra year in college or wish you could go back now? And it won't suck banging hot coeds for another year.
I just don't see how you can knock the kid. Does anybody think he's going to have a bad year? Or that his stock will drop so far that hge'll never have a successful NFL career?
