Prime Objective was the coolest name to me.

Nobody would have accused Kobe of being soft.
Chris Childs would.

And then Kobe would drop 40 on him and completely lock him up on D

never forget when he crossed Hot Sauce and hot sauce wanted to fight him
Hot Sauce was such a bitch. He got a lot of attention because of his ball handling, but when people actually played defense on him he couldn't do shite because he was soft.
Towards the end of And1 even his own team would rag on him.

Didn’t everyone think he was faking an injury?

To answer this, it got to be too much of a parody of itself.
It's like the NBA Allstar game. It's more fun when people are legit trying to defend. In the early And 1 days, the games were legit and defenders were trying.
Later on, the legitimacy faded and it was more like a sideshow.
this is 100% the answer.
the first and1 mixtape was just rafer alston
volume 2 was huge and introduced everyone to hot sauce and those guys, and it was all in the context of competitive basketball games, played within the eneral rules of basketball. volume 3 expanded on that.
once the tour started, it became like harlem globetrotters. they weren't playing real basketball. everything was a travel, carrying, etc. same moves over and over, nobody playing defense.
