Had he kicked it on earlier he easily could have finished that race with a time similar to Secretariat.
You could just as easily say that if he had juiced it early in the race, he would not have had anything left for the stretch. Pay me now or pay me later. Man - where do these corkscrew hypotheticals come from?

I heard that AP is offspring of Secretariat. If this is true then Secretariat is the Horse of horses.

the point is, you're crucifying the horse becuase he didn't have to run hard to beat the other horses. That's.. that's not very smart

But those other horses aren't very fast. Secretariat didn't have to win by 32 - but he did. Risen Star didn't have to get on Winning Colors' throat after 4 furlongs - but he did. Affirmed may be the best comparison, but Pharoah didn't have a beast like Alydar to fend off. Those fields at Oaklawn were a joke. He sat behind the speed in the Derby. And he runs 5 claimer splits in the Belmont.
If he is a super horse, he hasn't proven it yet. Hopefully he'll have a chance to. But he won't run at 4 so he probably never will.

I think that makes Secretariat even more badass IMHO. Without needing to, he still went for a record. It was almost like he was going for it and knew what he was doing

It's funny AP was pushed the entire race and still couldn't run faster

He wasn't pushed. He kept the lead, conserved his energy and pulled away at the end. If he couldn't run faster how did he extend his lead in the last quarter mile?
