The only thing the media likes more than over-hyping somebody, is tearing them down.

I can't wait for Tim to get cut so you guys can then look for your next excuse, but it may be even funnier if they keep him on the team just for jersey sales and never play him.

Next excuse for what?

I thought it was strange Tebow was back in the NFL. I figured he was too old. I guess we'll see. The dude stays in shape so who knows. Regardless, the hate he is getting from the media and the left is absurd. The idiots on ESPN want to compare him to Kaepernick. Kaepernick was given the chance to come back. Multiple teams wanted him to try out, but due to his massive undeserved ego, he decided to host his own tryout, and only invited a certain number of teams. And even then, he showed he wasn't any good. He was even offered a contract with the Broncos, and declined. He doesn't want to be in the NFL, he just wants to keep making money off of victimhood.

One of Kaep's last few games in the NFL, he was 3 for 24, with 2 interceptions. I remember laughing when i saw that screen shot. The fact remains, Kaep makes more money race baiting, and blaming everyone on his failure in the NFL on everyone but himself. He's not a "trailblazer". He's a hate-filled, opportunist using race to stoke the fires of division. People like Kaep should not be glorified or exhaulted.

The discourse around Tebow will be far more rational when his fans are willing to admit that being a White Evangelical Christian has been very lucrative for him while having no real negative impact on his career.

If "the media" hate him so much, then why did he have a lucrative ESPN contract for seven years and why was he promoted as one of the faces of the SEC Network when it launched?

Because he earned it on the field in the SEC? What kind of clown question is that? You think his position was just handed to him?

I'm pointing out giving someone a job, paying them hundreds of thousands of dollars, and promoting them as one of the faces of your brand is a pretty weird way to treat some you supposedly "hate" and is, in fact, pretty good evidence that you don't hate them.

And if you know anything about Tebow, you would know that being an Evangelical Christian is not some marketing gimmick. It's who he was before he got into college. He spent his much of his time in grade/high school going on mission trips.

It's funny you doubt this, when you can easily google tebow, and find multiple articles (including a very recent and public Stephen A. Smith idiotic rant) about him. Want me to link you a few?

Is it a shock that the media is a slave to the dollar? The media and left may hate Tebow, but everyone else recognizes he's a genuinely good guy. Oh, and i'm sure the fact that being known as one of the best college football players in the game has something to do with it, no?

See above. Do you know a more recognizable name in the SEC, in the last 20 years, than Tim Tebow?

Almost as if they do what is in their best financial interest. As one of the most recognizable athletes to come out of the SEC, he brings views and clicks. His on field success is what made him that way. IF he wasn't such an great football player, none of the rest of his story matters.

I'm just here to make sure that everyone knows he's not gonna be a significant contributor to this team outside of jersey sales.
