He's been washed up for awhile now. I'm glad the STL didn't waste a roster spot on him.

Wasn’t the fact that he was unhappy being relegated to a bit part bench role the whole impetus behind his release from the Angels?

I get the allure of playing for a contender in the same city and thus not having to make a move, but I can’t see him being content as a pinch hitter and Max Muncy’s backup.

Not much. He can't run or field. He'll come off the bench to hit LHP and DH when the Dodgers play the AL.

He's at first base in his first tonight. Muncy over to second. Hope it's not a trainwreck. I already miss Corey Seager.

What is strange is that the Angels GM said Pujols wanted to be an everyday player when he was cut. Then, upon signing with the Dodgers, he says he's willing to be a role player. Which contradicts what the Angels GM said.

Angels didn't want to play him at all apparently, or he realized that he had no opportunity to start once he was set free

It's so weird seeing him with the Dodgers. Just like Aaron with the Brewers. Mays with the Mets. And Griffey with the White Sox.

He's willing to be a role player on a WS contender, not a middle of the pack team.
