Things starting to heat up after Jays sweep NYY in the Bronx

Current standings:

Really hope the Jays can finish strong and win a spot in the play in game

Dream matchup would be Toronto vs Seattle

An all AL East wild card game would be pretty interesting considering they’ve all played each other nearly 20 times by seasons end, but give me the new blood. Anything but Sox/Yanks

ETA: going to keep this OP the same as it was when I made the thread on 9/9. if anyone is interested in seeing how the standings have changed every few days since then, just scroll through the thread

Probably won’t happen, but I’d like to see Seattle get the second wild card. Been 20 years since they were in playoffs.

The Mariners are some kind of way 76-64 with a -53 run differential. That’s hard to do.

Blue Jays are only 1.5 games ahead of Seattle and they have a +143 run differential.

My dog could have managed the Astros to 90 victories by now.

Mine would have been ejected for running on the field after the first ground ball.

That said, the Astros would probably still have 90+ wins.

I will be at Fenway Sept 24 for Red Sox/Yanks (same weekend as Pats/Saints) so I really hope they are both fighting for WC spots to make the atmosphere that much better

Yeah and the final 3 weeks should be awesome

-The battle for the NL West title has been epic all season

-Cincinnati and San Diego are a half game apart for the 2nd NL wild card spot with a few other teams still lurking 3 games back

-Only divisions that aren’t locked up besides the NL West (which should go down to the final week/weekend) are the AL West and NL East, but Houston (5.5 game lead) and Atlanta (3.5 game lead) are pretty heavy favorites to win those although one bad week for either team and they can easily be in danger

-And of course the AL wild card which this thread is about

Should be a fun end to the season

Yanks are done.

Sort of incredible to see them lose 6 straight and 8 of their last 10 after winning 13 straight.
