Right call going for 2. It should have cost the Falcons there game earlier when they elected to kick the extra point.

Not really. Has they not made it, the situation is entirely different. Waiting to go for two keeps you in the game longer. They made it, moot point.
Both announcers questioned the call. But the coach is the coach b
no, that is completely wrong. The announcers don't have a clue. It is all about knowing 6 minutes out whether you have to score 2 TDs or a TD and a FG

Easier to score a TD and FG in 6 min than two TDs.

FG time to cover the spread

But why force yourself into a TD/TD situation when you can allow yourself a TD/FG situation?

Good insight.
Just saying, you have limited time...if you kick the PAT, you have a a much better chance of getting a TD and FG in that time...especially given you likely don't have any TOs by that point in the game.

Its not about whats easier. Its about what is afforded to you. It is USELESS to score a TD and a FG with 6 minutes if you don't make your 2 point conversion. You will only know if you need it if you go for 2 before rather than after.

That announcer wants them to kick a FG...

dude, you need the 2 point conversion anyway. I've explained it to you. You are caught up on something that is totally irrelevant.

what are you even talking about. they would have had to go for the 2 point conversion no matter what. they just chose to do it on the first td and instead of the 2nd td. that way if they didnt get it they at least knew what they needed in the remaining six minutes.
it was the right call, i dont really know what else to say.

Everybody knows its easier to score a TD and a FG. That is not the point. It is whether a FG will help or not. You only know if the FG will help once you see whether or not they convert the 2 pt try or not. Thats why you do it on the first score.

DUDE
I know the situation. My point is if you try and fail the two point early, you are forced into a two TD scenario, an unlikely one. If you remain behind by 11, you're still in a TD/FG scenario with the TD requiring a 2-pt conversion. I don't see what's so hard to comprehend.

Thankfully somebody else understands. I was losing complete faith in this board.

alright, I understand what you are saying. you are wrong. You've created a false dilemna between 2 TDs and a TD and a FG.

yeah you're kinda dumb. you have to go for 2 on one of the td's. so the coach wanted to know with 6 minutes left if he needed two tds or td/fg rather than with 2 minutes left.

I don't think I have. I'd just rather keep all scoring options on the table in trying to tie the game. Wait until the last possible moment to attempt the two point conversion.
Agree to disagree.

Duly noted that you would rather do that. It is still completely irrational.
