The ref must've seen LSU-UF 2007, on fourth and short you just give it to Hester

What was the ref doing calling that a clear first down?

Hester ran, looked to be right at the marker, was ruled a first down without a measurement.

Then the game was stopped for a reason unknown to millions of viewers because the fricking ref's microphone isn't working. WTF?! Can't the Broncos afford a fricking mic that works? Or a back-up? Good grief!

You didn't miss anything. 2 minute warning. May have a measurement.

I don't think they could overturn that. Inconclusive on replay

I realize he was mistaken, but I stand by my assessment that it likely would have still been a touchback, since they ended up kicking off high rather than deep.
Really? From the 20? I've been watching games played at Mile High since the 60s, and I don't think that in 14 degree weather that I've seen an 80+ yard kickoff resulting in a touchback. I don't think that it would have been "likely," merely possible.

Why the frick does he even need to challenge? They should have measured it in the first place.

A challenge, interdasting.

ETA: I don't see any way they could overturn the ruling on the field

This won't get reversed because you can't tell anything.

He's going to lose the challenge because it was too close to overturn. The overhead is the best view.

I think this is the most complete pats team in years. Their defense shows flashes of dominance here and there and BB is the best defensive game planner in football.

I understand that. But even at the current spot it's close enough for a measurement that they're not giving them.

Probably fair. I've seen it happen plenty but typically in much warmer weather. Wind chill of 1°... yuck. Seriously reconsidering one of the jobs I'm applying for in CO Springs.
