why do you guys always point out that usc has busts as if lsu and every other program doesnt. the nfl is a different game, many great college players dont succeed. all the big name programs have players that didnt make it, not just usc. besides usc has polamalu, lofa totupa, mike patterson, steve smith, justin fargas, carson palmer, who are solid to very good, how many lsu players are all pros in the nfl?

Your point would be well taken if ESPN had touted LSU as an all time great team, or best team that year.
How about when Jesse Palmer kept saying he "still likes LSU" after we've been skullfricked many times this year. That got a little old if you're a non-LSU fan.
How about when they tout "DEATH VALLEY" like it's some kind of tough road game or something?
Losing 4 games in 2 years at home isn't exactly a "vaunting" venue or anything. Maybe people got sick of hearing about that.
They were fair to tout best team in 2005 before texas won. I mean, just look at who they had in their backfield.

The point is this:
They are MUCH better than 8 of the 9 other Pac 10 teams EVERY year. They have good players. These two things mean that they will dominate. It does not mean they are the best EVER. That defense this year was good. But there is no way of knowing they are one of the best. Oklahoma's Offense scored more points than ANY other OU team in history. In the end, it didn't mean shite.

they are much better than just about every team except 2 or 3 EVERY year.
Look what happens when they play the SEC. They skull fricked Auburn and Arky every time they've played them.
Hmmm.....
USC-70
ARK-17
LSU-19
ARK-17
USC-55
OU-19
LSU-21
OU-14
Hmm....

Every USC thread, no matter what it's about, always degenerates into the rehashing of irrelevant past games and ESPN's precieved infatuationfrom both SC fans and other fans,
which has nothing to do with the original topic
That being said, frick yeah Taylor Mays!

We need Sanchez back too, if we're gonna make a title run.

this is the only reason I hate USC, to be honest. That and the fans soaking up the garbage that ESPN spews every week and taking it as gospel. I have no beef with the 03 season. If it the other way around, I know damn well what LSU fans would be saying.

The Colts running game is the reason they have lost as much as they did.

You make it sound like this is on a regular basis. It's not. It's one game in one season.
2nd game of the year AT home Ark's best player, McFadden, has a broken toe
USC-70
ARK-17
Last game of the year with a healthy McFadden
LSU-19
ARK-17
I'm not saying Ark would've beat USC with him 100% but it couldn't hurt just ask Oregon last year after they lost their QB. They beat USC, going 8-1 their first nine games. He goes down they lose 3 out of their last 4.
This makes no sense because it's two different years essentially making it four different teams!
2004
USC-55
OU-19
2003
LSU-21
OU-14
If anything isn't what LSU did more of an accomplishment since we beat the OU team that was regarded as "the best team in the history of college football" that year and had the Heisman trophy winner?
Here's a score for you...
Stanford 24 (40.5 pt dog, starting a backup QB)
AT
USC 23
How the hell does that happen?!

Well, they've beaten the shite out of every SEC team they've played. So the argument of "they need to play in the SEC is bullshite."
I don't want to hear it about SOS either. They played Ohio St. this year while we played Tulane, Troy, division I-aa team, and N. Texas (the worse team in all of D-IA.
70-17 is a skullfricking, hurt toe or not.
Plus, every pac-10 team that we bitch about being weak that we played gave us all we could handle.
ASU was luck. A blocked FG and punt for a TD and a bullshite call(doucet dropped it) for a "win."
I know, I know, Katrina blah blah blah.....
Oregon St. beat the shite out of us. Had it not been for that kicker we would've lost.
Seems we don't want anymore pac-10 teams, huh? Oh, yeah I forgot we scheduled their worst team.

Every team has a bad game. At least Stanford is a BCS conference team. We almost lost to a sunbelt team. Losing 31-3 at home to Troy!? What the hell is that?

Week in and week out is different than one a year...sorry.

I guess you forgot about the two arse kickings we gave Arizona

Poor excuse. With the talent USC has, their third string should've beaten them

I'm not going to get into this argument because I've already mentioned why I can't stand USC. But that's a terrible excuse. That Stanford team was garbage. GARBAGE. Plain and simple. 40.5 point underdog on the road. There's no way anyone can ever come up with anything to justify that loss.
That's like LSU losing to ULL at home.

Calling USC the "team of the decade" in college football is like calling the Indianapolis Colts the "team of the decade" in the NFL.
I mean, they do have the most 12-win seasons this decade.

Let's see. Most wins. Most major bowls, most major bowl wins. Tied for most NC's. Seems pretty straightforward.

Continue to pound crappy Big 10 teams in the Rose bowl and consider it a major accomplishment..Seems pretty straightforward.

Serious question regarding schedules and going undefeated. Everyone says USC should go undefeated every year "with their schedule", but fail to appreciate how difficult that is.
One could argue that USC was at a disadvantage this year due to the Pac 10's actual and perceived overall weakness, since the only way they make the title game is to go undefeated.
As an analogy let's take basketball: would you rather have to go 10 for 10 from 7 feet or 9 for 10 from 9 feet? I would take the latter in a second.
