if the true south equates to doesn't understand the difference between where/who and is/are, sure by all means claim it.

If you speak like you type please don't tell anyone you're from the South, it will embarrass the rest of us.

I hate the Yankees, WWL and NOLA's obsession with New York is the reason to blame for this crap.

I would have thought Vancouver would sway to the Mariners instead of a team two thousand miles away

Makes sense to me, but they see the Blue Jays as Canada's team. Whenever the Mariners play the Blue Jays in Seattle, they come down in a giant herd from Canada and pack Safeco with Blue Jays blue.

What does NOLA and WWL have to do with Yankee fans?

That's because that the only team we could see on TV other than the Cubs and Braves and who the hell wants to pull for those two teams.

The methodology of which team has the most Facebook page likes doesn't always equate to "______ territory" for me. It would be nice to have an intensity component to the map. If a county is below a certain number of likes for the most popular team, adjusted for population, it should be considered neutral. You can see the Yankees and Red Sox just filling in the gaps where MLB apathy is most prevalent because there isn't a nearby team. Look at that band in Oklahoma that is too far from the Rangers and Cardinals that has the Yankees; I'd like to see the total number of MLB team page likes in those counties. I suspect Louisiana is more like the gaps in Montana and Oklahoma than an actual stronghold of Yankees fans in Florida, for example.

There are a good many Boston fans in the NOLA area. Do know some folks who like the Yankees but the results on the map are kind of a shock to me.

I was surprised to see Cubs fans every now and then in LA when I moved down. I think that was a WGN thing

Yup! Thanks to WGN I grew up watching the Cubs during my summer vacation. Ryne Sandberg, Andre Dawson, and then Sammy Sosa got me hooked on the Cubbies!

I've never met a Yankee fan in Louisiana. Astros and braves fans everywhere.

The Royals take up a lot more of Missouri than the last map like this. Wonder why that is?

Is Northwest LA really Ranger territory?

Yes, closer to Dallas than Houston. When I was in school at Tech the Astros, my favorite team, were still on Fox Sports but all Rangers games were shown over the Stros because of location.

i wonder if that big Red Sox chunk in Quebec is all former Expo fans...

I lived up that way for a awhile, and they all got NESN (Red Sox and YES) so it was easy to follow.

I was sure that Louisiana would be full-blown Red Sox with the amount of trash that wears their B hats.
