Inspired of course by possible Petrino to Western Kentucky.

Hal Mumme: at Kentucky from 1997-2000. Had 3 good years there...then the NCAA jumped his arse. He resurfaced in 2003 at Southeastern LA for 2 years, New Mexico State for 4 years, and now is currently at McMurray University (whatever the hell that is)

Mike Price: at Alabama for a cup of coffee and some strippers. Sat out a year, resurfaced at UTEP in 2004 and has been there since. As far as I can tell, he hasn't been in high demand to move up.

Mike Leach: Alledgedly locked Craig James' little a-hole child in a closet. Sat out 2011. Ended up at Washington State and just finished a 3-9 season.

Gary Barnett: Pretty much a jackass at Colorado...hasn't resurfaced since 2005.

Give me some that I am missing...any happy endings to any of these stories when a big coach tries a comeback after doing dumbass things?

Bob Knight: Had some success at Texas Tech

During Knight's first six years at Texas Tech, the Red Raiders won 126 games, an average of 21 wins per season.

Got them to the Sweet 16 one year.

Mike Price was screwed in Bama...literally and figuratively. People need to lighten up.

He also settled his defamation suit against SI for a substantial sum.

I think Texas Tech looked a lot worse than Leach during that fiasco. Suppose I wouldnt call him disgraced, although I thought he would have gotten hired quicker and by a better program.

Gary Barnett sounded like a complete jackass when he started dogging the girl kicker in the midst of a rape scandal.

I can't really think of any head football coach who recovered fully after going off the reservation.

Was Randy Shannon tied to any of that mess that went down at the U? I've heard that FSU is looking at him as a DC.

John Calipari: Defending NCAA Basketball champ. I'd count vacated Final Four appearances as being disgraced.

For that matter:

Pete Carroll: Should reach the playoffs this year.

George O'Leary: Left GT for ND, got fired a few days later for lying on his resume or something but has since put a decent career together at UCF. Been there since 2004 and has a couple of CUSA titles I believe.

Though if I'm not mistaken he has gotten in trouble with the NCAA at GT and at UCF.

Rick Neuheisel: Was successful coach at Colorado and then Washington, but left a trail of NCAA sanctions behind him. Sued NCAA for improper investigation into his gambling activities, became high school coach for two years before resurfacing as Baltimore Ravens QB coach. Made a comeback at UCLA, but was fired after only one winning season in four with the Bruins.

Larry Eustachy - Had Iowa State as a basketball power, got fired for going to Iowa State frat parties, resurfaced at Southern Miss, finally got them to the NCAA tournament last year, then bolted for Colorado State where he is now.

That is almost a different category. When I think of "disgrace" I think of scandal.

Barry Switzer: Resigned from Oklahoma in 1989 when
quote:

His team was placed on probation by the NCAA for violating several rules. In a six month time frame, there was a shooting and a rape in the athletic dorm on Oklahoma's campus, Switzer's house was robbed with the help of one of his athletes, and an athlete was caught attempting to sell drugs to an undercover agent.

Later, Switzer took over the Dallas Cowboys and won Super Bowl XXX.

I don't believe he was--I think it was mostly Coker or without knowledge of the coaching staff, but I could be wrong. Shannon is currently the LBers coach at TCU and is being looked at by several places for DC. Bumpas has been out DC in Patterson's system forever so if he wants I advance he has to go somewhere else.

Both Petrino and Saban lied and snuck out in the middle of the night. Thats somewhat of a scandal imo. Saban was afraid to go into his own locker room near the end.

Spurrier was just such a pathetic coach he was run out of town. No scandal there I guess.
