The NBA and NHL have 41 home games and play in smaller arenas. More people attend NHL games than MLS games.

The most valuable MLS team would be tied for 27th in the NHL. Only three MLS teams are worth > $1B or more. All NHL teams are.

MLS is definitely the 5th most popular sports league in the US/Canadian market, and that is a hell of an accomplishment for a league that started 30 years ago. But stop cherry picking numbers to show is it #4.

Yea, those aren’t sports. They are hobbies.

Soccer is not a sport? You’re joking, right? WNBA is a sport; you crazy?

soccer is certainly a sport but it isnt considered one of the big 4 traditionally in America. In america its pretty much always been football, baseball, basketball and hockey.

globally i would say its soccer, baseball, basketball, hockey football as the big 5

The NHL, while clearly bringing up the rear among the four main leagues, still makes over four times as much total annual revenue as MLS.

The largest viewing audience for MLS game 3.1 million and that happened in 1996! Meanwhile Game 7 of the 2024 Cup Finals had 7.7 million. The Stanley Cup Playoffs saw an all-time high in engagement, averaging 1.54 million viewers per game, the highest in 28 years.

That's not the point, he said soccer isn't a sport it's a hobby which is just an insanely stupid thing to say same with WNBA although it's far less popular

If I lived in a shithole like New Orleans I’d have the greatest city in the world New York on my mind 24/7 too.

And how about all those people who actually live in New York? What do you think is on their mind 24/7 with the likely prospect of a Muslim Socialist being elected their next mayor? I guess they'll all follow their former neighbors to red states that don't tax their income to pay for that shite.
