49ers will attempt to acquire Revis

The Niners only have 12 picks right now, but will get three more via the compensatory process. Per Yahoo's Jason Cole, the 49ers have considered pursuing Revis and not extending his contract, forcing Revis to play out 2013 at $6 million via bonuses and salary. Cole suggests Atlanta could make a Revis run, as well. If San Francisco acquired Revis, it'd likely surrender one of its two top-34 picks, or perhaps even both. Jets GM John Idzik should be on the phone with 49ers GM Trent Baalke. Idzik needs roster-building pieces, and Baalke has them.
If they get him, pencil them back into the Super Bowl.

They are already the favorite to win the NFC again. If they pull this off?? Gosh damn, pity on the rest of us!!

I hope none of this happens. I want to trade up in the draft and get a few high quality young and relatively cheap players; not an ACL busted hold out.

A bundle of picks will do nicely.
Would hate losing one of the best CBs ever, but Cromartie showed this past season that he can be the guy at CB. It was a luxury so the Jets could combat passing teams in the playoffs, which isn't a likelihood anymore with the win now window gone. The team has to be rebuilt because of which, and that's where amassing picks will help.
His demands are just too large to build a team on, not to mention a bit juvenile in the fact he wants to be paid the highest just so no player can say that make more than him. He is Sean Gilbert's nephew after all...

Why not? I think it's very likely the Jets will trade Revis, as they aren't going to give him the deal he is seeking. The 49ers have a boat load of draft picks, so why wouldn't this happen?
