I'm really curious as to what format Portland wanted? Did they want 20 and to have it limited further? Did they not want to be in the playoffs at all?

Portland could be upset at tie-breaker scenarios. Portland has played 2 more games than the Pels. If both have the same record in the 8 game play in, Portland will have a higher winning percentage by virtue of playing more games. I read somewhere that there are proposals in that scenario that would essentially treat both teams as tied and revert to traditional tie-breakers which the Pels would win by winning the series 4-0.

I feel like there should be a thread ahead of time so people weigh in on whether there's an asterisk.
You know there are certain teams who will change that vote if they win it. I'm glad we get playoffs and a real champ.
