Wow the blocking on the backstretch after those final pit stops!

The 1 and 7 have been penalized for blending in front of much faster traffic.

Kevin Lepage would approve, though. IYKYK.

Crazy there wasn’t a caution for contact between the first and final laps with all the 3 and 4 wide racing. These drivers went all out today. Fantastic race!

Man, these cars are how cup should be and are like cup used to be. Can make moves without spinning out. Just an awesome race. That first stage finish was the tits and great driving by many young drivers. And the finish wow, a lot of action and first time winner.

And I love love love they penalized two drivers fro blocking. Every year we see wrecks caused by this and ruin good racing or strategy. Nascar finally fixing it.

No way Sun will be like this. I would love if we could do a non points driver swap. Pit all cup drivers in NOAP AND NOAP in cup. And I bet NOAP still has better racing.

Ut credit to NOAP drovers making the series fun.

And the booth wow! They add just the right amount if excitement and knowledge. You always feel super engaged and up to date. They really are great at calling races and today did another outstanding job.

And TV production was spot on again. Always with the right angles or replays.

Kelly Crandall
@KellyCrandall

I learned something new this week from Hendrick Motorsports pit crew coach Jacob Claborn. So with the changes to the Chevy body there is a bit more of a ledge or lip on the sides now, which they began to learn in Daytona in live time pit stops. Well, that ledge/lip has created a bit of a blind spot for the jackman coming around the left side looking for the peg. It was always eyes on the peg coming around the car. Now it’s about being more focused on having eyes those decal markers there.

Couch Racer
@CouchRacerShop
Expecting stage 1 and 2 to have extreme fuel savings until close to the end of the stages.

Expecting different strategies to play out at the end of stage 2.

Expecting stage 3 to be mostly full out where track position will be key as 3 wide is tougher to succeed.

I hope stage one and two won’t be like the Daytona race, but I’m thinking it’ll be like that fuel strategy type racing anyway.

I attended every Cup race at Talladega between spring 2002 and spring 2008 (and many of the Busch Series races, as well as the first Truck Series race there). Those were awesome days. I tell people who go now but who never attended in the 90s or the first decade of the 2000’s that they missed out on the best days of Talladega.

Heard people say this all through the 90s and early 00s. Finally made it out there in 2011.
