Isn’t Trackhouse the ones involved in that Gibbs lawsuit? That might be dragging them down?

Ford doesn't invest in NASCAR. They are all in on F1. Chevy has a new body. Toyota is benefiting on experience right now, but Reddick is hot.

Trackhouse is miles behind what they were even last year. Ross isn’t even competitive this year. What happened?

I think some people forget he was the regular season champion two years ago. The dude went through some serious off the field stuff last year with his baby almost dying and having to have treatments and testing to figure out what was going on. Add in all of the lawsuit drama, and just plain dumb luck when they showed up with some speed, and it was just an abnormal year. The guy came into this year probably feeling 100 lbs lighter and able to just lock in and race. Pure wheelman in the sport right now Reddick is top 3, and the run he is on right now he's making the case that it might not be one that starts with a 't'.

The only thing I could see hurting him come the Chase is that the 45 crew is one of the slowest on pit lane right now. You see it just about every week where he will lose multiple spots on pit road because the crew is only faster than the 12 team when looking at the big names and big teams. The 45 crew is closer to the 12 than they are the 23, and closer to the 4 than they are the 11 on an avg stop.

Chevy changed their body and the whole Chevy camp seems slow to find the right adjustments. They just have not found the same speed and handling they had in the old body, and teams like Spire and of course Hendrick are at least making some ground on that front.

I do believe Kyle Busch isn’t what he used to be at JGR. He has regressed being that Austin Dillon is consistently outrunning him in the same RCR equipment.

On the other hand, Hamlin doesn’t have room to talk because he’s never been in subpar equipment. Heck, RFK isn’t terrible but look at Brad’s performance at Penske compared to where he is now. Could Hamlin do better at RCR? Maybe, but we’ll never know for sure.

Is Nascar trying to destroy what remaining fans they have? Are they paying attention to F1 killing that sport with electrics?

Lets kill the one series gaining audience business plan.

No one hates Nascar more than their execs.

And that’s when you’ll have more people watching reruns of Saved by the Bell than the weekly race. Terrible is correct.

It’s amazing how many corporate stooges have made their way into NASCAR’s leadership. If he can be stupid enough to suggest this, what other terrible decisions could he make?

Its why conspiracy theories in Nascar have legs. I read a bunch of replies to his post and many stated Toyota is a big partner of Nascar and TV advertiser so thats why they are winning. Some say they never tore down Reddicks car and did the inspection in 5 minutes.

If they are dumb enough (they are) to even say this out loud then there is zero doubt they would rig cars to help a manufacturer.

Didn’t this dummy just take over recently?

Everything is fine, nothing to see here.

@jeff_gluck

Was Kansas a good race? 50.8% of you said Yes.

-- Ranks No. 18 of 21 Kansas races
-- Ranks No. 9 of 9 Next Gen races at Kansas (previous low: 2025 spring, 58.5%)
-- Ranks No. 12 of 13 Tyler Reddick wins
-- Following up on low vote totals: Only 4,029 votes with 180k impressions on the poll. Second-lowest vote total for one of the polls on X since 2018; lowest was last week.

I’ve called the OReily series “Classic stock car racing” for years now but it does expose an issue for all racing series currently.

Unlike other sports, motorsports is requested to entirely change its product every few years to satisfy OEMs and technological changes.

The question is: Do you continue to change with them, or prepare a platform that can survive in an OEM-less future? Is that 10 years away? 20 years?

Sprint cars, dirt late models etc are essentially this. Are they relevant technologically? No. Do they have a dedicated fan base? Yes.

Then there’s the issue that the current car has a dwindling supply of parts and the manufacturers of those parts are disappearing.

Thus I don’t envy NASCARs situation here. Invest in keeping things as they are by becoming involved in the parts and pieces that are relevant no where else?

Or change with the whims of consumer preference for OEM support? Risking the very product your customers love.

It’s a really tough spot. My heart says, just stay as is. Let the cup series change but keep one for your hardcore fan base.

But I’m not staring at the spreadsheet data.

Parker may be correct here in saying that NASCAR is being pushed by the automakers. If NASCAR has to go along, though, then I think we have to consider the possibility that NASCAR will simply die at some point or at least be a much smaller, niche sport (smaller and more niche than it already is).

I can’t get past this part. These are the best racing cars in Nascar. Are they seeing NOAP gaining on Cup ratings and need to kill it to try and help Cup?

"If you look at the brand identity of those three, the O'Reilly Series struggles a little bit just from the car perspective and you see it a lot because we refer to it often as whoever the entitlement sponsor is."

You can try to convince your customers to buy what you're selling, or you can find out what your customers want and make it for them.

I know which strategy I think is better.
