Weather looks good for Nascar and Indycar
4 days of track activity in the forecast. Overall, sunny & mid-70s/80s. There is a low pressure area that sets up near Baja late week worth watching…for now looks too dry for rain chances to reach Phoenix by Sunday

They should honestly look into that. Supercars races 3x a weekend most of the year. I know road races and ovals are apples and oranges, but it can be done. Let teams increase car counts to 10 per number.

Supercars are more like factory and can’t take as much abuse. So they race differently and have harsh penalties for contact. Nascars are made with so many interchangeable parts but the challenge for double headers is certifying cars. Haulers can only take 2 cars.
I also would wonder about viewers if do double headers. Its costly for teams to pay crews and truckers an extra night of hotel and food. Some crew work Nascar on weekends so expanding to double headers is tough in manpower and costs.
Not saying I disagree but there are limitations and differences.

On that note, I wish Supercars were broadcast here. Great racing.

They are… behind a frickin paywall. Racer network owns rights.
Supercars YouTube is like $9 a month. But I’ve got enough subs already.

If tweet fails to load, click here. So Cletus is getting a ride with RCR.
Thoughts on if he has the qualifications to move into O’reilly series.
I think he needs more time in ARCA or trucks before moving up.

There's workarounds for that, at least for east coast races.
I've been at Atlanta when there's a weather delay and seen teams pull the backup off the hauler and load it on a Featherlight 5th wheel hooked up to an F-250/2500 to get it back to Mooresville before the hauler comes home. You could do the same if you needed a new car in Atlanta, Darlington, etc.
Also, teams do have extra big rig haulers. When NASCAR would do Auto Club and Vegas back to back, teams would send the auxiliary haulers with the Vegas cars and swap out the Cali cars with the primary haulers.

If you bring more than 2 cars your costs go up. And you have to prep each car for that track. And get them certified by Nascar. Smaller teams would not have ability to do more. Plus they race the next week and turnaround is harder if you had 2 races.
I see no value on 2 race weekends. To add, thats what the trucks and cup lite are for. And most weekends those races are better than cup

Bowman out for Phoenix. Alfredo will replace him. Bowman has vertigo.

I think this is last year of Bowman in the 48. Could e win a title two years ago, but it might be time to move on

AVONDALE, Ariz. -- Hendrick Motorsports driver Alex Bowman will miss the NASCAR race Sunday at Phoenix Raceway after he was diagnosed with vertigo.
Bowman was too ill to continue racing last Sunday at Circuit of the Americas in Texas and was replaced midrace by Myatt Snider, who had been working in the pits for Fox Sports at the time of the driver change.
Anthony Alfredo will drive the No. 48 Chevrolet for Bowman this weekend at Phoenix. Alfredo has 210 NASCAR national series starts, including 43 at the Cup level. He is the simulator test driver for Hendrick Motorsports and Chevrolet.

I usually watch the extended highlights of supercars races. Usually a half hour long and pretty thorough.
Fun racing

Yup, Bowman is done after year. Who will replace him?

A shame they could nan Zillich
A Quick Google search says Brad, Kyle Busch, and Bowman as the main names for 3026 free agency.
Would Kyle come back to HMS to chase Daytona for a year? Brad isn't.
Kendrick likes young names they can groom, but with Zillich gone the star power in Xfinity/ Nationwide/Busch series isn't really there this year. Austin Hill is not making that jump.

Vertigo is some bad stuff. Probably been recurring some from a bad hit sometime in the past. Bowman was a shoe at one time.

Maybe Max Verstappen takes the HMS seat next year lol. I hear he is cooling on F1 with their new car rules and electric lawnmower engine

I think points racing will be slightly different this year but this helps show who is good at Phoenix

Not clowning on Bowman being injured but I remember times in the past when you couldn't pry a driver out of his car.
I remember Dale racing one time after a hard wreck when he was clearly concussed and Davey racing at Pocono with his right hand literally taped to the gear shift lever.
If I remember right they both won those races driving hurt.

Didn't Ricky Rudd tape his eyes open for one race after a real bad wreck?
Posted on 3/7/26 at 11:31 am to bamarep
What I read is his vertigo is unrelated to his heat exhaustion.
Either way, I think this is his last year. Would they bring Rowdy back for a last run? Looking ahead Rowdy has a son in racing. And Harvick’s son just signed with Toyota. Looking ahead perhaps Chevy would want to secure him now like Toyota/Harvick?
